Have you met Dieuconsole? He's a Senior 3 student and a young artist. For the last three years, he's been exploring his creativity through different activities and painting. His work features Uganda's wildlife. Each painting brings out details that make every subject special. But there's more to his art than what you see. Painting has taught him to be more confident. And to trust the process. At Faces Up, we create spaces for young people to explore their creativity and develop their skills. And connect their artwork with people who appreciate and want to own it. You can find some of Dieuconsole's paintings @SFacesup . 70% of every sale goes towards his school fees. The remaining 30% supports more art classes. Would you like to own a piece of his work? Visit the Faces Up Store @YujoRestaurant or shop online at store.facesup.org !

What does happiness look like to you? And what kind of community would you love to live in? These are the ideas at the heart of this year's Faces Up Art Club Inter-School Art Contest. Learners from primary schools under our Art for Educators Programme are invited to choose one of two themes: 🎨 The Many Sides of Happiness 🎨 The Community I Want Bring your chosen theme to life through art! It's an opportunity to explore ideas, express different perspectives and share how you see the world. And there's more! Winning artworks will be exhibited @akagallery on 21 November 2026, alongside prizes for the winning artists. So, get creative and submit your artwork! We can't wait to see what our young artists create. #facesup

I became Uganda's first wildlife veterinarian in 1996, there were only about 650 mountain gorillas left in the world. Today, there are over 1,063. We are proud to have contributed to this positive growth trend though our #OneHealth approach to conservation. One of my first cases as the first Veterinary Officer of @ugwildlife was a scabies outbreak in the mountain gorillas. I learned that we cannot protect gorillas without caring for the people who live next to them. Through @CTPHuganda we started to Improve health care for families around Bwindi, so diseases like scabies don't pass from people to gorillas. We train Village Health and Conservation Teams and Gorilla Guardians to monitor both human and gorilla health. We also help communities find livelihoods like Gorilla Conservation Coffee, so the forest becomes a benefit, not a burden. When communities are healthy, gorillas are healthy. That is One Health. I am humbled to be named a Top 5 @CNN Hero for this work. The winner is decided by your vote. Please vote at: CNN.com/Heroes 10 votes every day until November 29th. Thank you for protecting the mountain gorillas and supporting the local communities with us. #CNNHeroes #WalkingWithGorillas #OneHealth #CTPH #Bwindi

We were excited to have Roland Tibirusya , a volunteer artist who has been volunteering at @abilityksph_Ug (KSPH) for several years and is in charge of Art at the school, join us for a printmaking session. As the children stamped colour onto cloth, Roland enjoyed seeing their excitement and interaction with Faces Up teaching artists. Reflecting on the session, he shared: “The kids are excited by colour… It’s always interesting to be with children, just printing and getting into the session.” One creation caught his attention: Ninsima Gift’s piece of cloth, carrying a message for her mum: “I love you mummy.” ❤️ She also called the session “wow and perfect!” 😂 We’ll let her keep us guessing what perfect means! Through each print, the children had room to experiment, make their own choices and keep trying as their patterns took shape. Thank you, @tibirusya and KSPH, for giving the children an opportunity to experiment, make decisions, have fun and express themselves freely, and for sharing this creative experience with us. #facesup
