I haven't been on this site for a bit.
But I haven't seen anyone share the photo the New Statesman staff staged in 2013 of Russell Brand as Christ, and themselves as his disciples. It seems to have been scrubbed from the web.
It made me angry then and it makes me angry now.

They were worse than that. His barrister's arguments undermined every rape victim, apportioned blame to everyone but the rapist, and were the kind of thing only mad, drunk uncles muttered in the 19th century. I hope he has a wife, daughter or mother who gave him a thorough bollocking for it.

The brilliant department of journalism at @CityStGeorges was born the same year as I was. In 2000 I did my newspaper training there, thanks to the Scott Trust.
We learned all the essential reporting skills - crafting a news story, shorthand, media law etc - but I also made close friendships that have abided to this day.
