Our economics research agenda is public as of today.
The central problem we're working on: connecting ecosystem output to AVAX value accrual.
Value created onchain doesn't route itself to the token securing the network. That takes deliberate design. That’s what we are working towards.
Measure → capture → distribute.
AVAX Matters 🔺
Capture is the second stage of our research framework: how much of the value created on a network does the network retain?
Eric’s new piece benchmarks nine chains. Cheaper computation tends to mean lower capture, and on Avalanche, growing the value apps create matters as much as the share the network collects.
With ACP-283, the fee floor is now a lever we can study directly. Worth a read 🔺

The latest piece in the Economics of Blockchain series is out 🔺
@eric_lu_sc, Lead Economist at the Avalanche Foundation, benchmarks the Avalanche C-Chain against eight other chains on cost and capture. The analysis focuses on the fee floor, a capture mechanism within our economic research agenda.
These findings predate the Helicon upgrade and set the baseline for understanding the impact of ACP-283, which now lets validators vote on the fee floor. Post-Helicon analysis to follow in due course.

Measuring capital markets onchain 🔺
Tokenized equities bring economic activity onchain that originates in traditional capital markets.
For our research, the question is how that activity shows up in Avalanche’s Gross Chain Product, and how much of the value it creates stays within the network.
Team is making good progress, and looking forward to sharing some more updates.
Vamos!
Speaking on the Avalanche Q3 Ecosystem Call, Matias A., Chief Investment Officer of the Avalanche Foundation (@frostLedger), shared an update on the Foundation’s economic research agenda.
The measurement framework is now established, work on value capture is underway, and research is now focused on how value is distributed through the ecosystem 🔺

Avalanche continues to take meaningful steps toward onboarding institutional finance, with the introduction of tokenized real-world assets as live collateral.
Income that originates in traditional markets and flows to assets held on Avalanche is part of what our Gross Chain Income (GCI) framework sets out to measure 🔺
BREAKING: On Avalanche, Tokenized U.S. Treasuries can now back institutional loans and trading positions while continuing to earn interest
Through @Lynq_Network’s integration with ZeroBeta, institutions can manage collateral and settle transactions directly on Lynq’s Avalanche L1, without moving assets off the network.
More capital efficiency for institutional finance, powered by Avalanche.

Proud of the work we’re building here. Each piece adds to a clearer picture of how value is created and captured across Avalanche.
The next piece in the series is coming soon. Looking forward to sharing what we’ve found 🔺
The Economics of Blockchain is the Avalanche Foundation’s public research series and the ongoing home for our economic research agenda.
The agenda is organised around a sequence: measure the value the @avax ecosystem creates, capture that value at the protocol level, and determine how it is distributed across the network.
Each piece published in the series connects explicitly to that agenda: advancing the central hypothesis, answering one of the research questions, or documenting what the evidence shows and where it points next.
Updates, findings and new research will be shared through the series as the work develops 🔺

In a year when global football brought millions of fans together, ticketing is a clear example of blockchain solving a real-world problem: verifiable ownership and authenticity, built into everyday fan experiences.
Activity of this kind, grounded in real demand, is part of what our research agenda sets out to measure 🔺
Sports fans deserve an easier and safer way to purchase tickets.
Francesco Abbate of @FIFACollect explains how blockchain helps verify authenticity, track ownership and give real fans a clearer path from digital collectibles to tickets on gameday.

New research from @CharlesSchwab highlights the quality of activity on Avalanche, from real-world assets to stablecoins, lending, and asset management.
Understanding how that activity creates lasting value for the network is at the heart of our research agenda, and why we created Gross Chain Product to measure that value.
The work continues 🔺

JUST IN: Charles Schwab identifies Avalanche as a leader in RWAs and institutional use cases.
New research from @CharlesSchwab points to custom L1s and high-utility financial activity as key differentiators for the network.

Fan reward infrastructure continues to be built on Avalanche.
Activity of this kind is what our research agenda aims to understand: how value is generated and flows through the network.
We look forward to following Marquette University’s progress onchain, and on the field 🔺
BREAKING: Marquette University Athletics is bringing fan rewards to Avalanche with Uptop
Today, Marquette joins a growing roster of schools and sports teams on @uptop_xyz. With Marquette Rewards, fans can earn tickets, merch, and experiences with everyday purchases at participating businesses.
More ways to reward, built on Avalanche.

Very cool research from the Grayscale team:
Bitcoin’s one-year realized volatility is 43%, down from a 10-year average of 64% and 81% five years ago.
That’s now lower than 19% of S&P 500 constituents.
This is bigger than it looks. It’s a door that nudges slightly more open for structural (not just tactical) allocations from buy side institutional investors . I like :)

📣 Avalanche Q3 Ecosystem Call
What to expect: Big tokenization news, growing institutional adoption, summit NYC recap, and more wins across the ecosystem.
Last quarter gave us a lot to talk about, so let’s talk about it.
Join the Quarterly Ecosystem Call tomorrow at 1pm ET for the highlights and a look at what’s upcoming.
Watch live on X tomorrow and RSVP below:
Moving traditional capital markets onchain isn’t only about efficiency or 24/7 trading. It goes beyond that.
The part I find particularly interesting is access: opening up markets that have been out of reach for much of the world.
That’s what we’re building toward on Avalanche 🔺
Enjoyed joining the stream, @PharaohExchange.
