Last week Glencore’s Argentina CEO @Martín Pérez de Solay joined a discussion at the Financial Times’ Metals and Mining Summit which explored opportunities in Latin America's #copper sector. Speaking alongside panellists including Argentina’s Secretary for Mining, Luis E. Lucero, Martín explained how Glencore is putting its long-term growth plan in Argentina into action. This plan begins with the restart of the Alumbrera mine, where project execution has progressed faster than expected, bringing planned production forward to the second half of 2027. Then through the development of MARA, which combines Alumbrera and Agua Rica. By leveraging existing infrastructure at Alumbrera, the project is designed to support a long-life copper operation. And finally, by advancing our El Pachón project in San Juan, adding another significant copper development opportunity to Glencore’s pipeline. Together these projects reflect Glencore’s long-term commitment to Argentina, supporting local employment, working with suppliers in Catamarca and San Juan to create value for local communities, and helping meet growing global demand for #criticalminerals.

Glencore’s Antapaccay has completed the land access agreements required to unlock its brownfield Coroccohuayco copper project in Cusco, Peru. The project team will continue to work closely with local communities and authorities to take the project forward, including securing the final permits to enable first production – expected in the second half of 2029. At our Glencore Australia Newlands Coal mine, our closure work involves working to restore the land and return it to use as a productive grazing habitat. Glencore has received approval for its MARA project under Argentina’s Incentive Regime for Large Investments (RIGI). What does this mean? RIGI approval provides the fiscal and regulatory certainty needed for further investment in the project, which has the potential to produce more than 200,000 tonnes of copper concentrate on average each year during its first 10 years of operation. Glencore has signed a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) sales and purchase agreement with S&T International Natural Gas Trading Company Limited (S&T), a subsidiary of China Suntien Green Energy Corporation Limited. Under the agreement, Glencore will supply LNG to S&T for 10 years, with volumes sourced from Glencore's global LNG portfolio. The agreement further strengthens Glencore's presence in China's LNG market, supporting greater supply security and the transition to lower-emission energy systems in the Hebei province.

📣 Glencore has signed a long-term offtake agreement with Nimba Mining Company (NMC), covering the pre-financing and marketing of its bauxite production. The agreement provides for the marketing of 10 to 12 million tonnes of bauxite annually over a five-year period, giving Glencore long-term access to high-quality Guinean bauxite while further strengthening our position across the aluminium value chain. Over the life of the agreement, Glencore will market up to 60 million tonnes of bauxite from NMC's operations, leveraging our global marketing network and long-standing customer relationships across key aluminium-producing markets. At our Antapaccay operations in Peru, we've renewed our heavy-lift crane fleet with three new Tadano cranes (80, 160 and 250 tonnes). The largest unit alone offers up to 15% more lifting capacity than its predecessor. Beyond capacity, the new fleet brings real-time load monitoring and 360° camera systems, helping to reduce blind spots during complex lifts. "These new cranes will help our teams carry out critical tasks with greater confidence and efficiency, while contributing to our ongoing focus on safety." – Giancarlo Arca, Mine Maintenance Manager To support the commissioning of the new fleet, Antapaccay also implemented a mandatory theoretical and practical training programme for crane operators and maintenance personnel, delivered by Tadano-certified instructors.
