My mum lost her elder, only brother in WW2. He was a gardener with a gentle soul. He was 18 years old. He desperately didn't want to be sent away to war. He desperately didn't want to be made to fight. He didn't survive. His letters continued arriving months after his death. 😢

#BonfireNight A very well organised event in Hathersage #Derbyshire. All the action was behind wire fencing but it was still possible to feel the warmth of the fire and get a good view of the spectacular cascading firework displays - to the sound of appreciative oohs and aahs!

#WednesdayVibes Ouch! 😬 A heavy, very muddy and wet dog bashed into the back of my leg whilst I was out walking. He had a huge strick in his mouth and was running along excitedly with it and not looking where he was going. His owner was on his moby and wasn't looking either. 🙄

I'm ok-ish but my jeans are now wet through & filthy. The owner made light of it. I met a woman with a baby in a pram & a little doggy running beside her shortly afterwards & warned her they would prob be coming back along the track soon as a steaming poo bag had been left. 💩

Defo - I agree. I'm a dog lover and I used to be lucky enough to have two gorgeous sheep dog/labradors in my life, but this dog's owner was way too distracted and I'm not even sure he saw what happened as he was still on his moby when I turned round to see what had clobbered me.
