🎓 Transforming India Through Education & Innovation! 🚀
As part of the ongoing Golden Jubilee celebrations of the University of Hyderabad (UoH) and the Silver Jubilee of the School of Management Studies, the campus hosted an inspiring session featuring Prof. B.S. Murty, Director of IIT Hyderabad, for Lecture #8 of the Distinguished Lecture Series.
Speaking on "Building a Developed India: Role of Education," Prof. Murty reflected on his own journey from a polytechnic diploma to leading one of India’s premier institutes, urging the youth to fearlessly take charge of the nation's destiny over the next 20 years.
Key Takeaways & Highlights:
🔹 Embracing Resilience: UoH Vice-Chancellor Prof. J. Anuradha set an encouraging tone, reminding students that "Failure is learning; learn from your experiences."
🔹 Global Supply over Just Self-Reliance: Prof. Murty urged a broader vision for Indian innovation: "We have to make 'Make in India' products—not just to be self-reliant, but to supply globally so we may call India a developed nation."
🔹 Fostering Creative Freedom: True innovation starts in labs but thrives on practical experimentation, creative thinking, and interdisciplinary learning—including the arts—starting right from school-level education.
🔹 Progressive Academic Models: Highlighting IIT Hyderabad's pioneering steps, he shared examples of flexible B.Tech curricula, institutional reward funding for startups, and environmental sustainability on campus.
Powerful Call to Action for Youth: 💬 "Don’t look for employment; give employment, start ideas, and build products." 💬 "If you think you are small, you will be small. If you think you are big, you will be big."
An unforgettable event that left the UoH community energized, inspired, and ready to lead India toward a transformed, globally competitive future! 🇮🇳✨
