When Stevie Wonder predicted that Beyoncé’s COWBOY CARTER “may end up being the most talked about album in this century” while presenting her with the 2024 iHeartRadio Innovator Award, I think the legendary musician and humanitarian understood something about this project that many overlooked at the time.
More than two years later, following the Democratic wave and historic political firsts of the 2026 midterm elections, his words are worth revisiting.
So much of the conversation when COWBOY CARTER dropped was about whether Beyoncé belonged in country music. Meanwhile, she was asking a much bigger question: Who gets to define America, claim its traditions, and have their contributions recognized as part of its history?
You hear it throughout the album.
“AMERIICAN REQUIEM” confronts exclusion and the struggle for belonging. “YA YA” celebrates the richness of American music without ignoring the country's painful racial history. “ALLIIGATOR TEARS” speaks to the impossible expectations and sacrifices people make just to be accepted. And “AMEN” brings everything full circle, confronting that history while leaving room for reckoning and renewal.
Now, as the country reflects on an election marked by historic breakthroughs in representation, folks are returning to these songs and hearing them through a different lens.
Not because Beyoncé was predicting an election, but because the questions she raised about America are still very much part of our national conversation.
That's what makes Stevie's prediction so fascinating. COWBOY CARTER wasn't simply Beyoncé experimenting with another genre. She was examining America, its contradictions, its history, and who gets to belong.
And while people were busy debating whether she belonged in country music, they missed just how much she was saying about the country itself.
Kevin Durant believes LeBron James joining the Philadelphia 76ers would work, explaining why his experience, willingness to take a minimum deal and understanding of team basketball could make them a juggernaut
Durant says LeBron has already shown that he understands how to build a winning team, pointing out that the rushed roster changes in Cleveland after Kyrie Irving’s departure were made under difficult circumstances. He argues that LeBron eventually figured things out, with the Cavaliers trading several of those players before making another Finals run.
What makes this potential Philadelphia move different, according to KD, is LeBron’s mindset. Taking a minimum contract would show his willingness to fit into the team rather than demand that everyone revolve around him.
Durant believes LeBron understands that roles will change throughout the season. Some nights one player will be the leading scorer, while another will have to take a back seat. Having a veteran who can manage those personalities and expectations could be exactly what Philadelphia needs.
He also points to the team’s championship-winning coaching and front office experience, saying they have the basketball minds to make the pieces work.
Durant is confident the Sixers have everything they need on paper, with health being one of the biggest factors left to worry about.

I'll be honest, it was another night of me just being in awe at times of LeBron James' impact. It was felt on both ends of the floor tonight, but his command of the offense is just something to behold.
13 PTS, 10 REB, 8 AST, 1 STL, 1 BLK
Here's his best plays of the night ⬇️

Quite frankly I think it’s idiotic to suggest that Kamala Harris shouldn’t run again just because she lost to Donald Trump in 2024. And I have yet to hear a good response to why she shouldn’t run.
That election was not a referendum on her ability to lead but a reflection of the ignorance and disinformation that flooded the electorate. When we talk about that election we cannot leave out the facts.
Over 75m ppl voted for Kamala Harris and she did that in 107 days. Kamala Harris is the second most voted for democratic nominee in US history. We did not go anywhere we are clearly still here and the tide has shifted. This next presidential election will be the opportunity.

AMERICAN REQUIEM will forever be THE best album opener! Beyoncé never misses. She’s always on point! ✨
LeBron truly got his joy back. no more toxic media surrounding him daily, no moles in the organization plotting or putting him in positions to fail, the fans have embraced him fully & love him like he’s been there forever, chemistry with the team is already peak & they’re playing like they’ve been teammates for years now. Bron ain’t danced & smiled this much since 1st stint Cleveland 🤣
The LeBron James experience in Philly:
AND-1.
HANDSHAKES.
DANCING AND SMILES 🕺😂
@sixers (7-1) won their fourth straight last night!

Trump will REMAIN President, but what he CAN'T do now:
1. *Can't pass any law:*
Needs Parliament. With Democrats at 90, all his bills will be blocked.
2. *Can't get money:*
Parliament controls the budget. No funding for his MAGA projects, Wall etc.
3. *Faces Impeachment Risk:* Democrats can start investigations and even move impeachment.
4. *Can't appoint Judges/Officials freely:* Senate will block his picks.
5. *Can't do big foreign deals:*
Trade deals, war funding needs Parliament nod.
In short: He will stay in the White House, sign Executive Orders, but Parliament and Courts can overturn them.
He becomes a *Lame Duck President* - President in name, powerless in reality.

Tonight, the American people sent a clear message — they want a politics that brings people together rather than divides them, and leaders who offer concrete solutions to the challenges they face.
These results were only possible because outstanding candidates stepped forward in every region of the country — including in areas once considered long shots. They came from different backgrounds and represented a range of political perspectives, but were united by shared values, a belief in public service, and a commitment to putting the people of their districts and states first.
We also owe a debt of gratitude to the thousands of election officials and volunteers from both parties who helped ensure a smooth election and carried out one of the most essential functions of our democracy.
While this administration has another two years in office, our job now is to roll up our sleeves, make changes wherever we have the power to do so, prevent further damage, and lay the groundwork for the future.
