Thank you to @LordPhilofBrum for your ongoing support. The amendments being introduced would ensure that those in health and care could have the person they want with them. #CareSupporter @JohnCampaign @CovidJusticeUK @PatientsAssoc #RightsForResidents

When the confidence and potential happiness of millions of people depends on a handful of tired but dedicated peers late in the evening, we have to find other ways to get the message out. Please RT An Open Letter to Baroness Merron johnscampaign.org.uk/post/an… via @JohnCampaign

This would give people in hospitals or care homes the right to nominate someone they lave and trust as thei Health and Care Partner. That person's access would be protected and their care and advocacy valued. It really matters but no one knows about it. Please RT

After what was supposed to be a straightforward hip replacement at St James’s Hospital, Sinead Ryan’s once vibrant 88-year-old mother suffered a severe cognitive decline during a agonizing 11-week stay. Contracted infections and a denial of vital rehabilitation were compounded by placement on a chaotic mixed-gender ward, stripping the elderly woman of basic dignity and peace. Systemic inflexibility stonewalled the family’s frantic efforts to advocate for proper care, with staff prioritizing private insurance forms over transparent communication or access to her medical team. When confronted, hospital management hid behind infrastructure limitations and bureaucratic jargon, offering zero accountability or even a simple apology for the trauma caused. Today, safely settled in a nursing home, her mother is spared any memory of the ordeal, but the painful reality remains: an uncaring, inflexible healthcare system utterly failed a vulnerable woman when she needed it most. #StJamesHospital #SineadRyan #SubstandardCare #Trauma #HumanRightsDoNotGrowOld #HSE @roinnslainte @kodonnellLK @CarrollJennifer

"When Mike didn't qualify for the funding, it was one of the most distressing moments of our dementia journey." - Trish. NHS continuing healthcare (CHC) funding can be a lifeline for people affected by #dementia, but too many families are missing out because the assessment process is flawed. Join Trish and over 22,500 others calling for a fairer CHC system by signing our petition today: action.dementiauk.org/fix-nh…
