Starlink
When @Starlink became a lifeline for a mother and her baby in rural Colombia.
Karina, 24, was facing a high-risk pregnancy after previously losing a baby. Reaching town from her remote community could take two days on horseback.
A visiting doctor brought a portable Starlink terminal and an ultrasound machine. Through Starlink, a specialist hundreds of kilometres away watched the scan live, guided the examination and identified the need for an immediate hospital transfer.
Karina reached the hospital in time. Her baby was born safely, and she had no complications.
Starlink brought specialist medical guidance into a home far from the city and helped a mother get urgent care.
This is why Starlink matters. It connects people to help when lives are at stake.
This lifesaving technology should be available in every part of the world.
