Hi, I'm Troy McClure.
You may remember me from such adult films as:
* Pump Friction
* The God-daddy
* Conception
* Django Unsheathed
* And Fill Bill.
(I'm not sorry.)
Today's most insane #copywriting job advert:
A series of educational articles totalling 15,000 words.
For the princely sum of $150.
I'm tempted to apply just to ask if they're OK.
Here's a question for all you #copywriters out there:
How many of you write a little sneaky #fiction on the side?
Or even some poetry?
Do you think it helps to improve your business writing?
I'd love to know.
You’re up there on the podium, miked up and sweating.
We’re down here on the picket-line, screaming for your blood.

Hi, I'm Troy McClure.
You may remember me from such adult #films as:
* Pump Friction
* The God-daddy
* Conception
* Django Unsheathed
* and Fill Bill.
Here's a socially insensitive #invention:
A wireless headphone that's designed to look like a hearing aid. (So you can listen to music in situations where you're not supposed to.)
Here are 5 words I love the mouth-feel of, despite how much they make me sound like a pathetic, pretentious plum:
* Pomposity
* Nefarious
* Insufferable
* Cortex
* and Plum.
Unholy confession #841:
I put an ice cube in my cup of tea to cool it down.
Unfundable #Business Idea: An app that takes any digital novel or magazine and converts it into a PDF where the text is broken up by diagrams and charts.
So if anyone walks past, it looks like you're studying a white paper.
But really, you're reading Harry Potter all day.
Have you ever hired a #freelancer who kept missing their deadlines?
Frustrating, right? But there's another perspective here:
That's exactly how your reliable freelancers feel when you don't pay their invoices on time.
They're meeting your deadlines. Are you meeting theirs?
People say 'Start your working day with the most important things you have to do.'
But for me, that means the things without deadlines keep getting pushed back to a 'tomorrow' that never comes.
So instead, I say this:
Start your day with the things you've been avoiding.
Native English speakers just can’t help themselves.
They’re not unwilling to make their writing unclear without not including too many negatives, and I’d’ve bet good money that we’ve all used more contractions than we should’ve – even though we’d’ve all been taught we needn’t.
Here's a lesson for anyone who uses a copywriter:
Use them. Right up until the words go live.
That paragraph you added? There's a typo. That tiny word you added? It's just upset the rhythm of the sales pitch.
Send it to your writer for a final look, and get your money's worth.
Here are 5 more dishes for your pop-up restaurant you can have for free:
* Apocalypse Chow
* Reservoir Hotdogs
* Duck a la Clockwork Orange
* P for Pancetta
* And Full Metal Jacket Potato.
