Testified before CA’s Little Hoover Commission this week on tech procurement.
We’ve built systems optimized for process and risk avoidance—not outcomes. The result: slow, complex, and misaligned with how modern technology actually works.

I know we live in the #DeliveryEconomy but it would be great if @amazon and @ups could've their drivers' not block streets while they make deliveries. The streets where I live are narrow, parking you car for 30 sec to min when there are parking spaces is just rude.
Another @Ticketmaster spectacular failure. Did everything right and still can't buy tix to take my kids to their 1st @springsteen show. Been at it for 25 min.

All dressed up for our first-ever masquerade ball! 🎭✨

🧵 Thread: Collaboration Tech & the Future of Government
🎙️ New Policy Chats episode!

Love this quote this morning by the #GOAT, @EliudKipchoge
If you are the greatest marathoner ever, Talent + Discipline=GOAT.
For the rest of us, one disciplined step each morning—especially when it’s hard—turns goals into results.
Enjoyed teaming w/ Dr. Justine Ross to lead a 3-hr seminar on policy communications @ucrspp Drawing on research, including my own publications, we focused on evidence-backed strategies to strengthen policy communications as Fellows begin 7-month placements across the region.
I had the privilege of hosting Seattle CTO @CivicCIO for a Fireside Chat for our Public Sector Advisory Council & T-Mobile execs.
Conversations like these help us bridge innovation to the realities of government service delivery—exactly what our council is all about.
Quite possibly the greatest @Strava segment of all time! (And still personal fav.) AKA....
How to run 3 miles and 7 miles at the same time and in the same time! @paulmitche11 what's yours?
