Well, looks like Next Fest is not going to do a lot for Orbital Chaos. It's nice to get a small boost in attention, but it's still looking like a commercial failure if I release on schedule. I'm worried that with the minimalist art style and low production values, people just think it's low-effort slop.
But it's also just such a niche game. It might've been naive to expect the niche to find my game from within a crowd. Perhaps in the future, my marketing needs to be much more targeted.
Orbital Chaos is a pretty niche title with minimalist graphics, easy-to-learn but hard to master gameplay, and plans for lots of user-made content after release. Not expecting it to be a star in #NextFest, but here's to hoping it finds its niche!
