What began as a simple employee request to support breast cancer awareness quickly developed into a heartfelt demonstration of unity, camaraderie and shared purpose across multiple MTA departments. Led by Bus Maintenance employee Gerald Fridie, specialists from Bus Maintenance, Bus Transportation, Bus Operations Support, Bus Storeroom, and Metro Rail Facilities demonstrated their shared commitment to supporting those in need by wearing pink awareness bracelets stamped “courage,” “strength,” “hope” and “faith” for “Wear Pink Day.” For those who’ve ever wondered, this is what we mean when we talk about the support that comes with being a member of “the MTA Family.” hashtag#BreastCancerAwarenessMonth
