What does a provincial budget have to do with children's rights? Everything.
On 29 & 30 Sept, teens aged joined us and @UNICEF_SA for a 2-day workshop on children's rights, how government works and how to read a provincial budget.

Happy Heritage Day
For 30 years we've worked to change the way society treats its children and youth, and we're just getting started.
Reimagine our heritage institutions for a new era. Start with the child in front of you.

‘No child should be a guinea pig for unregulated AI.’
Brazil protects 51 million children from manipulative AI. Elsewhere, millions of children face risks.
At UN General Assembly, Governments must turn obligations into concrete action.

A child is about to testify. Across the room, the person who hurt her.
At her feet: Toffee Beanz, the first therapy dog in SA to support a child witness in court. That's the argument our Child Safety and Protection Unit took to the @jellybeanzsa Child Trauma Conference this week
As part of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund's Khuluma Mntwana Sikuzwe (Speak, child. We are listening) strategy, Anzio Jacobs joined UNICEF & Kutunga for a discussion on the effects of digitalisation without infrastructure and what this means for children.

This Youth Day, we recognise that young people face different realities, but share many of the same ambitions: to learn, build skills, find opportunities & have a say. This is central to our Youth Leadership Programme, which equips youth with skills to change their communities.
Whether the challenge is unemployment, inequality, limited opportunities or access to services, young people have an important role in shaping the solutions. Support #Mandelathon and help us continue changing the way society treats its children: nelsonmandelachildrensfund.c…
✊🏾We honour the courage & resilience of women who shaped South Africa's history. We recognise that empowering women is central to building stronger communities. We work alongside communities to support women's empowerment, strengthen livelihoods & create opportunities for youth.
🤱 This year's theme for #WorldBreastfeedingWeek, "Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works," reflects the work of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, which supports mothers, families and children during the critical first 1,000 days of life.
Working alongside community healthcare workers, clinics and implementing partners, we help strengthen maternal and child health, promote good nutrition, and ensure families have the support they need to give every child the best possible start.

The visit included the cheque handover, the donation of care packs, and time spent with young patients and their families, bringing comfort and hope beyond the hospital wards. We extend our sincere gratitude to Sasol for this generous contribution. #NMCF30Years #ServeLikeMadiba
Our Board Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, CEO & CFO met with Mme Shirley Mabusela, former Trustee of the Fund & respected child rights activist. We're grateful for the opportunity to learn from leaders who have helped shape the Fund's journey.

Today @FordSouthAfrica joined the Make Mandela Bear Magic experience in Gqeberha, making bears that will bring comfort & smiles to children receiving treatment at the Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital (@_NMCH_). Every bear is a reminder to a child that they are not alone.
Today, we celebrate the life & legacy of Nelson Mandela, whose belief in justice, dignity & the rights of every child continues to guide our work. As we honour Madiba's life, we renew our commitment to building a SA where every child is safe.
