La lutte contre le racisme ne peut se limiter aux déclarations : elle exige des actes, une mobilisation collective et une réponse politique à la hauteur.

Ahead of tomorrow’s elections, the Party of European Socialists (PES) stands in solidarity with The Democrats, our associated member party, and its leader, Yair Golan.
In a joint letter, PES President Stefan Löfven and Secretary General Giacomo Filibeck expressed their support:
“A democratic, liberal and progressive Israel, grounded in the rule of law and respect for the fundamental rights of all its citizens, is essential to the country’s future.”
We share a commitment to social justice and to a just and lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians through a two-state solution, enabling both peoples to live in peace, security and dignity.
“We hope that the elections will mark a step towards renewed confidence in democratic institutions and a more just, inclusive and hopeful future for Israel and all its citizens,” they wrote.
✅Facts matter. Especially when democracy is at stake.
🇧🇷 Claims that Brazil’s presidential election was rigged because of the two-hour extension of voting are circulating. But important facts are being left out.
🗳️PES Secretary General @giacomofilibeck, who was in Brazil alongside @LulaOficial's campaign, following the electoral process, including the vote count, stated:
🤝“Both Lula’s and Flávio Bolsonaro’s campaigns requested additional voting time.
🚎 Lula’s campaign requested a nationwide extension following public transport disruptions in several cities, allegedly deliberately caused by right-wing mayors to obstruct voters’ access to polling stations. Flávio Bolsonaro’s campaign sought an extension in municipalities affected by severe weather.
⚖️Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court (STF) initially ordered voting to continue until 7 pm nationwide, later clarifying that the extension applied only to polling stations that had not yet closed.
📲According to reports published today, only 35,521 people voted during the extended hours. That is a negligible fraction of Brazil’s electorate. Even if every single one of those votes had gone to Lula, they would represent less than 1% of his approximately 4.4 million-vote lead over Flávio Bolsonaro. The final result was 51.79% to 48.21%.
✒️Claims of electoral fraud must be supported by evidence. Democracy depends on facts, transparency and respect for democratic institutions.”

🇷🇸 Congratulations to the Student List on winning Serbia’s elections, igniting a democratic rebirth across the Balkan nation.
🪧 From the streets to the ballot box, students, young people, and citizens have demanded accountability, justice, and change. In a record-turnout election, the newly formed anti-Vučić coalition secured a full majority in the country’s parliament despite serious concerns of corruption and voter intimidation.
🗳️ As PES President Stefan Löfven said: “Democracy is not simply inherited. It is defended, renewed and carried forward by every generation.”
🇪🇺 Today, their determination marks a hopeful new chapter for Serbia. Together with our sister parties, the Democratic Party (DS) and the Party of Freedom and Justice (SSP), we stand for a fairer, democratic, and European future.
