“Free this, free that.” But who pays the bill?
In his closing statement, Governor Scott challenges the promises of “free” programs with a simple question: Who’s going to pay for that?
His answer: You do.
Vermonters deserve plans they can afford and a governor who makes sure the math adds up. Re-elect Governor Scott to keep the focus on lowering costs, building more housing, and protecting taxpayers.

The Governor can’t do it alone. Governor Scott says making Vermont more affordable takes legislators willing to work with him. He also stands by his vetoes of bills he believes weren’t right for Vermont.
Reelecting Governor Scott keeps an experienced advocate for affordability in office. Electing lawmakers willing to listen, negotiate, and find common ground can help turn his priorities into lasting change.

Governor Scott’s business background and independent judgment shape how he leads. Reelecting him means keeping that practical experience focused on affordability and opportunity for the people who live and work here.

Vermont’s housing shortage has put homeownership out of reach for too many people and pushed rents beyond what families can afford. We’ve made progress and invested hundreds of millions of dollars in housing, but we can’t spend our way out of this shortage.
Building or renovating a home in Vermont still costs too much, takes too long, and is too complicated. That’s why I’ve pushed for meaningful regulatory reform to make housing faster and less expensive to build.
My plan would simplify permitting and zoning. It would invest in restoring existing homes and improving critical infrastructure. It would also support communities and small businesses working to create more housing.
We need to make it easier to build the housing Vermonters need.
I’m asking for your help electing a legislature that will work with me to put these reforms into action.
-Governor Phil Scott
When it comes to healthcare, we can’t afford to wait years for expensive, unproven policy experiments to play out. We’ve been down that road before, and it hasn’t worked. Instead, we need real plans, where the math works.
I have one.
It uses the tools from Obama’s Affordable Care Act that are - right now - keeping insurance costs far lower in other states than we’re paying. My healthcare package will immediately offer lower cost options. But, I need a legislature that will actually work with me, to make Vermont more affordable for you.
“We’re finally making progress.”
Education reform takes difficult decisions and the commitment to see them through. In this video, you’ll hear why continuing that work matters and why Vermont needs leaders willing to work through partisan divisions.
Reelecting Governor Scott means keeping his experience and independent judgment focused on lasting improvements for students and manageable costs for taxpayers.

During the NBC5 Debate, Amanda Janoo, claimed her public statements on the Vermont Air National Guard had been “taken out of context" by the campaign. Here is the full context:

“We need to have balance.”
Vermonters deserve a government where lawmakers listen, debate, and consider different viewpoints. Governor Scott argues that balance matters regardless of which party holds power.
Reelecting Governor Scott keeps his experience and focus on affordability working for Vermont. Electing legislators willing to negotiate and find common ground can help move reforms forward for all Vermonters.
Your vote helps shape both.

Property taxes are crushing Vermonters.
Without meaningful reform, annual increases of 10% or more could become the norm. I’ve helped prevent hundreds of millions of dollars in property tax increases in recent years, but I know that isn’t enough.
I need your help electing more legislators who will work with me to reform the system and control costs. We need leaders willing to do the hard work, instead of asking Vermonters to keep paying more.
-Governor Scott
