Proud to announce our $5.1m seed round today, led by @XYZ_VC and @SusaVentures.
Job's not done. Just getting started from here.
Today is Day 652 @RivetTax.
Since launch, we’ve filed over 1000 tax returns for companies like Cursor & Cognition. We've become #1 most-rated firm on Sam's List.
But today is special, because we get to announce our $5.1m seed round led by XYZ Ventures & Susa Ventures.
State tax notices don't follow a filing calendar. They arrive in March, in July, in the middle of your fundraise – and most come with a response deadline measured in days, not months.
The notice itself is usually routine: a mismatched figure, a registration question, an estimated payment discrepancy. What turns routine into expensive is the unanswered version, sitting in a mail pile while penalties accrue.
Rivet responds to state and IRS notices as part of the engagement. Forward the letter and move on. We'll take it from there.
For decades, the first years of an accounting career were spent on data entry – the price of admission before the real work began.
That's changing. As technology absorbs the routine layer, junior accountants at Rivet spend their time where the learning actually happens: reviewing edge cases, sitting in on client calls, working through complexity with the seniors training them.
The apprenticeship isn't disappearing. It's starting sooner.
We're excited to welcome Derek Mahler to Rivet as an Account Executive.
Derek joins our sales team from eko, where he spent three years, most recently as a Senior Account Executive. He knows what it takes to earn trust with fast-moving teams – and he'll be putting that to work as a full-cycle AE, helping founders and finance teams find a better way to handle tax.
Welcome to Rivet, Derek!
We're hiring across engineering.
We've built a T500 firm in 2.5 years – tax, bookkeeping, and a third product in stealth – and the technology behind it is still the smallest it will ever be.
As we head into Q4, we're hiring:
– Senior engineers: back-end, full-stack, front-end
– Founding IT hire
– Full-stack engineering intern(s) – surprise us
The problems are specific, the constraints come directly from our tax practice, and the solutions ship in days, not quarters. Apply on our site.
We're excited to welcome Katie Kreshek to Rivet as an Account Executive.
Katie joins our sales team from Aketa – with an earlier career chapter writing for Netflix. Winning over a skeptical room and landing a story fast turns out to be exactly what discovery calls require. Now she'll be doing it for founders and finance teams, as a full-cycle AE helping fast-growing companies find a better way to handle tax.
Welcome to Rivet, Katie!

We're excited to welcome Laura Rodriguez to Rivet as a 1040 Tax Manager.
As founders and executives build global lives, their US taxes get more complex – FBARs and filing requirements that compound quickly for anyone with ties abroad. Laura joins Rivet after four years at EY, where she worked in the Global Mobility practice guiding internationally mobile clients through their US filings. She began her career in immigration, helping foreign nationals navigate their visas before making the natural transition to the tax side – which means she understands her clients' situations from both angles.
Welcome to Rivet, Laura!
We're excited to welcome Jay Jiang to Rivet as a 1040 Tax Manager.
One of the hardest parts of supporting founders and executives as their lives go global is that individual tax stops being simple. Foreign reporting requirements stack up quickly, and getting them wrong is expensive. That's why we're excited to have Jay on the team.
Jay joins us from Eide Bailly, where he started as a tax generalist before joining the firm's international tax group. That role gave him deep experience with international tax reporting for both individuals and trusts, both of which our clients demand as their footprints expand and multi-generational tax planning kicks off in earnest.
Welcome to Rivet, Jay!
We're excited to welcome Seth Baylis to Rivet as a Tax Manager for our personal tax clients.
Crypto & digital currency taxation never sits still. The IRS issues new guidance every month, reporting requirements evolve, and clients need advisors that aren't just checking the box, but excited to dig in when they find themselves with a token windfall. That's why we're excited to have Seth on the team.
Seth brings deep crypto tax expertise from his time at Crowe and Satoshi Pacioli, alongside broad experience across individual tax matters. He earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in taxation from Auburn University. We're lucky to have him here.
Welcome to Rivet, Seth! Job's not done.
We're excited to welcome Zainab Samad to Rivet as our new Tax Operations Manager.
One of the hardest parts of scaling a firm is that operational complexity grows just as fast as the client work. Coordinating people, not tax returns, becomes the job to be done.
Zainab joins us with over a decade of experience at EY, where she got to know one of our earliest Tax Partners (Hin) - when an opening opened up on our operations team, we knew exactly the right person for the job.
Welcome to Rivet, Zainab!
By the time filing season arrives, your tax outcome is mostly decided. The window that matters is now.
Q4 is when the levers still move – timing year-end expenses, documenting R&D activity while the work is fresh, reviewing state exposure before January registrations, planning around equity events already in motion.
April is for reporting what happened. The fourth quarter is for deciding what does.

We're excited to welcome Julia Wu to Rivet as our new Flow-Through Tax Partner.
One of the hardest parts of supporting clients with sophisticated corporate structures is that flow-through taxation not only touches them, but all of their investors, employees, and shareholders at the same time. Partnership allocations, tiered entities, and the overlap between business and personal tax create problems that demand real depth.
Julia joins us from Deloitte, where she specialized in private equity-backed businesses and HNWI clients. What sets Julia apart is not only her technical expertise, but her leadership and genuine passion for building with our engineering team, exactly what one of the most complex areas of our practice needs.
Welcome to Rivet, Julia! Just getting started from here.

We’re excited to welcome Jazlyne Harriston to Rivet as our newest Tax Manager.
One of the hardest parts of supporting founders as they scale is that tax quickly becomes more than just compliance. Entity structures get more complex, personal and business tax decisions start to overlap, and planning across federal, state, and international considerations becomes increasingly important.
That’s why we’re excited to have Jazlyne on the team. Jazlyne brings deep experience across private client tax, complex individual and entity structures, high-net-worth individuals, investment partnerships, gift and estate tax, and global mobility.
Before Rivet, she was a Tax Senior at Forvis Mazars, where she provided compliance and advisory services within Private Client Services. Prior to that, she spent over two years at EY, advising Fortune 500 companies on expatriate and global mobility tax while completing her CPA.
What set Jazlyne apart is not only her technical range, but the way she approaches the work: detail-oriented, client-focused, and excited to help build scalable, tech-enabled tax systems for complex clients.
She’s now in her fourth month at Rivet and already helping us strengthen the way we support founders across both corporate and personal tax.
We’re lucky to have her here.
Welcome to Rivet, Jazlyne!
Your taxes look simple on paper. Do they hold up when you close a round, expand to five new states, and open up a foreign subsidiary?
Most tax firms are built for straightforward. Clean books, one entity, no surprises. The moment your situation gets complex, the cracks show: slow responses, missed filings, advice that doesn't account for what's actually happening in your business.
Rivet was built for exactly this. Messy cap tables, multi-state exposure, a year that went better than expected. We've seen it all — and we don't slow down when things get complicated.
Built for the complexity of high-growth companies. Not just the easy ones.
We're hiring a Platform Engineer at Rivet.
We've only been building for 860 days, and already are working with 1000+ of the fastest-growing companines in the world, but there's so much more to build.
Custom mods on top of tax softwares, PDF-to-CSV pipelines, and helping our internal agents push up against the limits of what they're capable of on TaxBench – the problems are specific, the constraints are real and come directly from our tax practice, and the solutions ship in days, not quarters. Unglamorous in the best way.
The bar's high because the companies we work with move fast, and we have to move faster.
If that's the kind of work you want to be doing, the role is open. Apply on our site.
