The Scottish Motor Racing Club are pleased to present the 2027 racing schedule. The schedule will see SMRC action in all four of the United Kingdom's Nations across the season.

Lachlan MacLachlan took the Scottish Fiesta ST Newcomers Cup title in fine style. 11 of the 13 races went his way, with Oliver Rook, his closest rival, picking up the remaining 2. In those two races Lachlan still managed to finish 2nd in the Newcomers class.

The Scottish MINI Cooper Newcomers Cup was a close run affair in 2026. The winner was Liam Kelso, fresh from a campaign in the Scottish C1 Cup which saw him win the Sheila Whyte trophy for the most promising young Scottish driver in 2025.

A history making champion in the Scottish Classic Sports & Saloons, Adam Kinmond became the youngest in the Championships history at 23 years old. Adam proving youth can compete in the Classic car scene, bettering competitors, most of which were double his age!

Gerry announced that he’d be retiring from the Scottish Fiesta ST Cup at the end of the season, and he will do so as a three time Champion.
The SMRC are delighted to confirm that the Scottish MINI Cooper Cup will return to the BTCC support package for the Knockhill round of the 2027 season. A trio of races will take place on the 7th to 8th of August.

Following on from yesterdays post, We caught up with Ayden Wilson right after he became a double C1 Cup champion. Hear what he had to say to Arran whilst fresh from his victory!
Over the coming days we’re going to be focussing on our 2026 Champions. First up, Ayden Wilson. After securing his first Overall Scottish C1 Cup Championship in 2025, this year he made it two in a row, becoming only the second multiple Champion in the category history.
He came into the season finale playing catch up for the first time all season. Ayden started racing with the SMRC in 2022, and has achieved plenty of success. In 2024 he was voted the most promising up and coming Scottish racing driver, and was presented the Sheila Whyte trophy.
