Back on X after losing my old account to the 30-day deactivation rule.
Starting over from scratch.
Same opinions. Same sarcasm. Same occasional bad takes.
We'll see how this goes.
Great observations by @PaulAnleitner
I think Thanos rode the line well.
Powerful, menacing, ruthless
And, even presented a plausible justification for his actions.
But never was the charismatic centerpiece of the films he was in.
Of its many flaws, Rings of Power runs into similar problem that that emerged out of The Dark Knight.
We can call it “villain-mogging.”
When your villain is portrayed as the most competent, intelligent, and magnetic presence on the screen, the audience begins to root for them.
But this is antithetical to Tolkien.
Evil can appear more powerful through illusion. It can generate fear through acts of domination.
But it should not have more “aura” than good.
Quirky stat of the day:
Teams with a winning record against Tom Brady...
0 of 32
Brady retired without a losing overall record against a single NFL franchise.
That's impressive, no?
Where are you valued most?
That's where you should spend the bulk of your time and energy and resources.
If we were a proper country that cared about its citizens and its future, schools would be the most heavily guarded places we prioritize.
There's nothing in a bank, or a government institution that is more precious and valuable than our kids.
Bend, Oregon man who shot and killed a shooter at his daughters' school speaks out, praises female teacher for fighting the shooter, allowing him to have a clear shot.
Kaylub Giamanco says he is haunted by the sound of children pleading for their lives.
He also praised the teacher for grabbing the gunman's weapon, allowing him to take a shot at the shooter.
"I want to recognize [the teacher]. She gave me the opportunity to make my shot without losing my life..."
"I swung the door open, and I stepped in, and I fired, and they dropped to the ground... I looked down at the gunman, and he was scrambling for his weapon. And I looked at him, and I shot him 2 more times..."

I can watch a movie from 1975 and marvel at the writing, acting, and practical effects.
Then watch a movie made with a $200 million budget and wonder if anyone involved has ever seen a good movie.
When truth becomes subjective, morality becomes negotiable.
What one person condemns, another celebrates. And neither has a standard beyond personal opinion.
