Today, we signed definitive agreements to acquire @WiskAero, @skygridai, and @Insitu_Inc from @Boeing, with Boeing taking a stake in Archer and becoming a strategic partner. We anticipate closing the transaction by year end. Wisk will accelerate our Halo/Thunder dual-use aircraft platform. Deploying nascent tech early in defense benefits our entire business. Wisk has some of the most advanced autonomy, flight controls, and sensor technologies in the industry. We plan to deploy that technology on Halo first, so that we can harden it and then bring it back to the air taxi platform when the FAA is ready to certify autonomy for passenger air taxis. Insitu is an incredibly trusted and reputable intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance drone manufacturer. They operate a profitable business with over $200M in annual revenue across 35 countries and they’ve manufactured 4,000 Group 2 & 3 UAS to date. For us that means an immediate revenue base to grow plus data from 2M autonomous flight hours. SkyGrid is complementary to ZEE, our new foundation AI model for aviation that we recently announced. SkyGrid has been in use as next-generation airspace management solutions since 2018 and we believe that when combined with Zee it can become a “must have” air traffic management product that helps modernize airspaces around the world. This transaction will help accelerate our evolution into becoming a diversified aerospace and defense platform. After closing, our product portfolio will span piloted air taxis, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in Groups 2 through 5, purpose-built AI for aviation, and the vertical technology stack for autonomous flight. archer.com/news/archer-to-sh…

One aircraft. Many missions. Introducing our dual-use autonomous, series hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft platform. Jointly developed with @anduriltech over the last two years. The global shift towards scaled autonomy will drive demand, but a dual-use platform is critical to build a broad supply chain that can deliver at the scale and cost needed. Defense is moving from exquisite, expensive VTOL aircraft to autonomous “loyal wingman” systems fielded at scale without putting crews at risk. Commercial operators need to deliver payloads over long distances, fast, into places without a runway, without a crew, and at low cost. Today at Farnborough, Anduril unveils Thunder, the defense variant of the platform. Later this week, we’ll share more about the commercial variant. I've talked about the work we've been doing with @anduriltech on our clean-sheet hybrid, autonomous aircraft design, but I haven't been able to say much beyond that. Today, that aircraft was down-selected by the UK Ministry of Defence for Project NYX, the British Army's program to develop autonomous "loyal wingman" VTOL aircraft designed to operate alongside Apache helicopters. We opened our engineering hub in Bristol specifically to support this work and that UK aerospace talent is already helping accelerate the effort. I’m confident we have the right team building the right aircraft to deliver what the British Army needs. Can't wait to show the world what we've been working on.

We’ve entered the next phase of our flight test program, showcasing piloted Midnight flight, as well as CTOL capabilities. The piloted flight featured a conventional take-off and landing (CTOL) demonstrating the robustness of Midnight’s landing gear which is capable of performing both vertical and conventional take-off and landing operations. Through our design and certification process, our team, government regulators and our customers, both civil and defense, have identified the importance of being able to conduct both vertical and conventional take-off and landing as part of normal operation of the aircraft as having CTOL capabilities in addition to VTOL provides operational flexibility and enhanced safety. Watch the full flight as Midnight cruises at speeds of up to 125 mph and reaches a maximum altitude of over 1,500 feet above ground level with Archer Chief Test Pilot, Jeff Greenwood, at the controls.

TRANSITION FLIGHT | Midnight has completed transition flight at a speed of 100+ MPH – taking off vertically, accelerating until it transitions from thrust-borne to wing-borne flight, cruising on the wing and then landing again vertically. Here are the key highlights from this milestone: ✈️ At ~6,500 lbs, Midnight is believed to be one of the largest eVTOL aircraft to complete transition, which is critical to being able to carry commercially viable passenger payloads 2️⃣ Archer has now achieved transition with two different full-scale eVTOL aircraft which is well known in the industry as a very difficult milestone few companies have reached 💨 Midnight’s flight test program will now continue its progress with plans to fly simulated commercial routes to demonstrate the aircraft’s operational readiness, executing high-rate flight operations, testing additional flight maneuvers that will be used in commercial settings along with continuing to expand its speed and endurance flight envelope Watch the full, uncut video of the flight here: youtube.com/watch?v=EKG-6rxX… Learn more here: news.archer.com/archer-compl…
