The tricky part of bringing Face ID to the Duo, is you need to package it twice for it to be practical.
If you just put it on the outside, you’d need to close your Duo every time you unlock a banking app or password.
Fitting all that underneath the inside screen will be tricky, and likely create a more obvious intrusion.
I feel like there’s now 0 argument against running macOS on iPads now that macOS is touch friendly
My issue is they didn’t have it for decades while everyone else did. Typically when Apple does something everyone else already has they find a way to make it different, unique.
AirPods were truly wireless
Apple Watch had the crown
Duo has Nano Texture
But touch screen is just touch.

To simplify things:
The touch screen / Dynamic Island / Glowing logo is a $300 add on for the 14" MBP and a $400 add on for the 16" MBP
Also appears they're still selling the miniLED version in both sizes. The ProLED XDR is just another option.
