Abdul winning is a resounding rejection of brazen bigotry, AIPAC lies and corporate blood money. The powerful message of inclusion it sends across the nation cannot be overstated. In the darkness of burgeoning fascism in America, it’s a beaming light of hope. Thank you, Michigan!

When Democrats take power again, we need to take a two-pronged approach to cleaning up our institutions and communicating about it. This will rely on investigations, single-issue bills, and an aggressive social media presence from our strongest Democratic communicators. First, Democrats need to launch investigations into the insider trading, pay-for-play, and pardon economy that Donald Trump has created. We need answers to some very serious questions. Did Trump ACTUALLY remove tariffs on Vietnam and then get a golf course announcement just weeks later? But these investigations can't happen in isolation. They need to be paired with single-issue bill after single-issue bill that directly addresses whatever corruption is being uncovered. For example, if Democrats uncover 28,000 insider trades coming from the oval office, we introduce a bill banning executive branch officials from trading individual stocks. Force Republicans to vote on it. If they vote against it, make them explain why. Then, it's necessary to have our strongest communicators flooding the zone about the corruption, and what we're doing. Flipping Steve Bannon's strategy back on him. Imagine if we had Jon Ossoff, AOC, James Talarico, Abdul El-Sayed, and our strongest Democratic communicators making face-to-camera videos every single day explaining exactly what's happening. "Here's the corruption we're investigating. Here's the evidence. Here's how we're going to stop it." I think this is how you connect the dots in voters' minds between the way they vote and having a responsive government that's actually trying to address corruption and rewire the system. Then we move to gerrymandering, affordability, paid family leave, and other reforms. Single-issue bill after single-issue bill, forcing Republicans to take public positions on these issues while Democrats communicate directly with the American people. I know this might sound idealistic, but we already have the tools at our disposal. I see people like Talarico, AOC, and Ossoff pulling insane numbers on social media. There's no reason that same infrastructure can't be used to explain congressional investigations, proposed legislation, and exactly what Democrats are doing with the power voters gave them.

THE MOST INCOMPETENT WAR IN HISTORY: SARAH PAINE ON TRUMP’S IRAN DISASTER Dr. Sarah Paine, a leading historian of great-power conflict and strategy, delivers a blunt verdict on the Iran war. She calls it one of the most incompetent wars in human history. The decision ignored basic principles of assessment, put maximum costs on America itself, and left permanent damage to the country’s power and alliances. This is not hindsight—it is the predictable result of hubris meeting reality. THE CORE VERDICT ➡️ “The Iran war is probably one of the most incompetent wars in human history.” ➡️ A competent war puts the costs on the enemy and minimizes them for yourself. ➡️ This one did the opposite. THE COST CATASTROPHE ➡️ It trashed the US economy. ➡️ It blew the US alliance system. ➡️ Iran is hurting, but the collateral damage is taking down the world’s economy. ➡️ That transforms the United States from a partner into an annoyance—and for many, a primary adversary—because it is threatening their economies. ➡️ “That’s breathtakingly incompetent.” THE STRATEGIC BLIND SPOT ➡️ Any serious assessment looks at the enemy’s strengths and your own weaknesses, plus everyone else who might intervene. ➡️ That was absent. ➡️ The first thing Iran would do is shut Hormuz. Narrow seas close in wartime. Ukraine already showed this with the Black Sea. ➡️ Shore artillery, mines, and other tools stop traffic. There is no mystery here. ➡️ The big naval base in Bahrain becomes unreachable. The fallback is Diego Garcia, 2,500 miles away in the middle of nowhere. “That would be a mess.” THE HUBRIS THAT MADE IT POSSIBLE ➡️ The people making the calls are historically unqualified for the job. That makes them profoundly dangerous. ➡️ Type A hubris assumes all decisions that matter happen in the United States. ➡️ Type B hubris assumes being good at one thing makes you good at everything. ➡️ Half-court tennis: you only watch your own side and never study the other team. ➡️ The Iranians understand Americans far better than Americans understand them. THE UNFEASIBLE OBJECTIVE ➡️ Trying to “solve” Iran with 90 million people was never realistic. ➡️ Nazi Germany had roughly 80 million and required an occupation force of about 1.5 million just to hold it after the war—before counting everyone else. ➡️ The goal was unattainable. Pursuing it guarantees overextension and a bad ending. ➡️ The lesson the world takes is simple: get a nuke. The war incentivized proliferation. ➡️ This was a pivotal error. The choices that existed before are gone and will not return. “We will never be the trusted partner ever again. It’s done.” THE BOTTOM LINE The Iran war did not merely fail. It maximized American costs, destroyed trust with allies, and handed every rival a clearer reason to treat the United States as a threat to their own prosperity. Competence would have contained the problem at affordable cost. Hubris chose the opposite. This is what permanent strategic damage looks like. #IranWar #SarahPaine #StrategicIncompetence #HormuzDisaster #USHubris #AllianceCollapse #CatastrophicMistake HT: YouTube The Diary Of A CEO

There are some big weasels in the Republican Party. My number one thought is and always will be Ted Cruz. He called Trump a sniveling coward, and then kowtowed to him in a way that has disgraced generations of Cruzes. Marco Rubio is a weathervane. JD Vance is a shapeshifter, but Ted Cruz is just a coward.

I’m going to repost this young lady every time I see her. There may be hope for the future after all.
History will favor those who stood up and said "No more!" to the Trump regime. She's 1000% right. These asshole politicians and billionaires are nothing without the people. Organize. Be angry, you have every right to be.

Deservedly scathing op-ed by the NYT: “If Democrats retake both houses of Congress, and more state governments than they now control, it will tell the world that Mr. Trump does not represent most Americans. It will demonstrate that a country that starts to slide toward autocracy can move back to normalcy, as happened in Hungary this spring. Most important, it will create a desperately needed check on Mr. Trump during his final two years in office. … In a 21-month span, he has done more harm to democracy and the rule of law than any other president in the modern era and perhaps longer than that. He has broken his oath to defend the Constitution by trying to rewrite it on his own. He has refused to honor Congress’s power of the purse and misused national security laws for political ends. He has defied federal court orders on Medicaid funding, deportation orders and more. He has dismantled the Justice Department’s legacy as an impartial enforcer of federal law, turning it into an instrument of retribution against his adversaries while canceling investigations into his allies. He has appointed inept sycophants to oversee crucial government functions, including law enforcement, national defense and public health. He has sought to disenfranchise large numbers of voters, claiming fraud that cannot be found, and championed an extreme new approach to partisan gerrymandering. He has physically besmirched the White House by demolishing the East Wing and financing a garish renovation with donations from wealthy allies.” nytimes.com/2026/10/27/opini…

To be a woman in Trump’s frat boy America must be unimaginably difficult. Women of all ages demeaned and traduced by the worst of mediocre men. Yet look at how amazing she is. In defiance of all of it she’s speaking truth to power 💜
