We’ve updated the Unreal Engine EULA so devs can now choose to train AI models on their UE and MetaHuman projects, and benefit from AI models that understand their code and content.
This change does not give Epic any rights to your content or code.

The Forgotten Titan is a cinematic environment created in Unreal Engine 5 by Lead Level Artist/Designer and Lighting artist Janitha Bimsara. The lighting and scale helps contribute to an unsettling atmosphere for the group of riders in the piece, stumbling upon the remains of a colossal being.
"One lesson from this project was that making the main subject brighter isn’t always the best way to draw attention. Reducing light on the foreground grass and surrounding vegetation helped the giant skull stand out while preserving the atmosphere. I also used the riders to communicate its scale." - Janitha Bimsara

This Lost Boys-inspired vampire character by Character Artist Corinne Boman was brought to eternal life using the Mesh-to-MetaHuman pipeline. All aspects of the character, apart from the hair, was sculpted and textured by Corinne.
"You can get some very cool results from using the MetaHuman Animator Markerless Motion Capture plugin, and easily cleanup and adjust the animation inside a level sequencer. I am by no means a professional animator, but I personally feel like my character gained so much more personality and expression when I started basing my poses on mocap data, where I was the one having full control of how I wanted the character to move and behave." -Corinne Boman

Hey everyone, there’s been some questions going on around here about Epic’s use of AI in Unreal Engine development. I’ve answered some questions from the good folks at This Week in Videogames. TLDR: Yes we are using AI in UE development (as we actually mentioned back at Unreal Fest) and it’s helping with pretty much everything.
