All VCM variants in one picture with their name for easy to ID. Viettel able to spam 6-7 variants of VCM in just a few years, after they mastered the cruise missile technology. Show how indigenous the Viettel's VCM is that they can customise and tailor it to suit their need.

Some pictures of the US M548 carry M101 howitzer as SPH. After the Vietnam War, the VPA has many M548 and M101 sitting in storage as war trophy, so the VPA top brass turned them into SPH. Tho the program didn't see widespread adoption, only a handful were ever made.

In my opinion, one of many reasons for the program not receiving widespread adoption could be that the SPH is quite barebone. Just basic M548 and M101 together. No new digital fire control or integration with C4I. Hence, it sits at the bottom of the list to get funding from VPA.

To explain the VPA top brass's view: "It was basic and simple upgrade; it can be done at any time. We don't need to rush the program with high priority. Better to save funding for the other with more meaningful change". This will make sense later with 130mm SPH or 152mm SPH.

Interesting development from Viettel Aviation Technology Center (VATC). The fuselage of the VATC helicopter is now being shown on the QPVN channel. VATC was hiring Airframe Assembly Manufacturing Engineer last month. All seems to be speeding up for the flyable prototype in Dec.

DIALOG DASAR PERTAHANAN MALAYSIA–VIETNAM KALI PERTAMA HANOI, 20 Oktober 2026 – Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Pertahanan, YBhg. Datuk Lokman Hakim bin Ali, mengetuai delegasi Malaysia ke Defence Policy Dialogue (DPD) Malaysia–Vietnam kali pertama, yang dipengerusikan bersama TYT Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Timbalan Menteri Pertahanan Nasional Vietnam. Penubuhan dialog ini menyediakan platform rasmi di peringkat dasar untuk menyelaras keutamaan pertahanan, memperkukuh persefahaman strategik dan memacu kerjasama dua hala secara lebih terancang. Berlandaskan Memorandum Persefahaman mengenai Kerjasama Pertahanan yang dimeterai pada tahun 2008 dan diperbaharui pada 4 Disember 2023, dialog ini membolehkan kedua-dua negara menilai perkembangan keselamatan global dan serantau, merangkumi cabaran keselamatan tradisional dan bukan tradisional. Perbincangan tersebut penting bagi menyelaraskan perspektif strategik serta mengenal pasti ruang kerjasama yang bertepatan dengan kepentingan bersama dalam menghadapi landskap keselamatan yang semakin kompleks. Thanks to that, the STV-380 rifle guarantees a barrel life of 15,000 rounds (as cited in the bottom-right of this picture). While the cost for each STV-380 rifle was just as low as 27 million VND, or roughly around 1,042 USD.

Yep, you hear it right. Milled receiver, cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel AK but cost just a little over 1,000 USD. All thanks to mass production with orders from both Vietnam MoD and IWI (OEM) help Z111 Factory to reduce the cost per unit.

It's always like that. People new to the military scene have a very binary view. SPH is superior to towed mortar/arty means the latter must be dismantled or no piece is allowed to remain in service. Same case with UAV/FPV drone vs Tank.
