Writing this in my personal capacity, but I have been flying these types of aircraft for more than 20 years, with over 8,000 hours, and have reasonable familiarity with how the charter world operates. I feel compelled to post after seeing commentary about the Lear 60 crash, from missile strikes to DEI to critiquing this poor woman’s final radio calls. That last part is what I find most troubling. She was the second-in-command (SIC), and while she was empowered to point out mistakes as part of good crew resource management, she was doing her job, communicating with ATC right to the end in a terrifying situation. She likely knew before many of those calls that she was going to die. I have heard final calls from friends, from military pilots with thousands of hours in fighter aircraft, and they are just as heartbreaking because they know the end is approaching. I understand the public interest given the footage and audio. But you do not know the aircraft’s maintenance history, whether there was a structural failure, if any failure was induced by turbulence, overspeed, or overcontrol, or everything happening in that cockpit. I am sure weather will be part of the investigation, but beyond that, it is speculation. The charter industry routinely hires commercial pilots very early in their careers to gain experience alongside an ATP-qualified captain before they move up to the airlines. She would still have the appropriate training, qualifications, and checkouts by an FAA examiner or designee. Let people investigate, learn, and share the facts. Be respectful to those who perished and the families who carry their memories. God bless them and their loved ones.

Replying to @patrick_oshag
@patrick_oshag and I had a great conversation a few days ago. We talked about: - Instinct’s high-craft, user-centric, and minimalist approach to product-building. - Our exploding invite-only program that ensures that every new user is onboarded by a close friend or family member. - How the internet will be transformed over the next 1-2 years when the majority of users stop using apps or websites. - A few of my personal goals in terms of the experience I’d like to deliver to users. Thank you Patrick!
My conversation with Noah Shinn (@noahrshinn), founder of Instinct. Noah is building a personal AI assistant. It's still invite only, has spent nothing on marketing, and is growing roughly 10% A DAY. This is his first long conversation about the company. We discuss: - Why Instinct doesn't have an app - Buying compute months ahead of exponential demand - How users learn to trust it with a credit card - Safety and security - Agents coordinating with other people's agents - Instinct's business model - Apps built on consumer inertia - and more Enjoy! PSA: this is not the right century to mess with the Jews.
BREAKING: Israel has blown up the Hezbollah’s Ali al-Taher Ridge tunnel network 15 km north of the Israeli border. 1100 tons of explosives were used. The systematic military operation started in early August and involving a tight encirclement, localized ground clearing, and intelligence-driven airstrikes. More than 100 Hezbollah terrorists and IRGC advisors were trapped in the tunnels during the siege. Hezbollah tried to resupply them with drones but failed. Tonight, the 2 km long tunnel network was destroyed forever.

Dude, just clean up the trash.
Today’s military strikes on Iran — carried out by the United States and Israel — mark a catastrophic escalation in an illegal war of aggression. Bombing cities. Killing civilians. Opening a new theater of war.  Americans do not want this. They do not want another war in pursuit of regime change. They want relief from the affordability crisis. They want peace. I am focused on making sure that every New Yorker is safe. I have been in contact with our Police Commissioner and emergency management officials. We are taking proactive steps, including increasing coordination across agencies and enhancing patrols of sensitive locations out of an abundance of caution. Additionally, I want to speak directly to Iranian New Yorkers: you are part of the fabric of this city — you are our neighbors, small business owners, students, artists, workers, and community leaders. You will be safe here.

Sky Harbour $SKYH just locked down $450M in capital ($150M in Series 2026 Bonds and the $300M JPM facility) at a weighted all-in rate of 5.15%. Once deployed at a ~13%+ yield, that generates $59M in annual NOI. At a conservative 6% cap, that’s $975M in value. Subtract the debt, and you’ve got $525M in value creation—roughly $6+ per share. The market’s reaction? Dead silence. It’s wild.

It’s important to remember that we grew apart financially at the same time we became connected digitally. That combo amps up tribal instincts and exposes us to people who don’t see the world the way we do. @BillAckman @PaulRieckhoff @wolfejosh

🚨🗽This is real and bad. And it underscores the most important, non-partisan and legitimate concerns about Mamdani: his own troubling words on tape. And every cop and Jewish person in NYC will see it. How can they trust him to lead them? They can’t. And for me, that’s disqualifying. More than anything else. I have tons of issues with Cuomo. But I have more with Mamdani. And Sliwa is not a real option. And I love this city more than I can ever express. So I can’t sit this election (or any other) out. Especially after all I’ve learned and sacrificed. So, like in far too many elections across America this week (and often), and especially in those without open primaries, I’m forced to pick between bad, partisan and limited options. And it sucks. I want better options than this. I want better leaders. And I think this is where millions of New Yorkers are now. And a majority of the 1M independent New Yorkers. The question is: how many of us will vote? And who will we choose? Independent doesn’t mean neutral. So I’m unhappily voting for Cuomo. By default. And against the other two. I don’t like it. But I don’t like the other options more. So that’s my choice. And a choice must be made. And as I cast my vote this week, I’m deeply concerned for our dear city right now. Because Mamdani does represent many things to many people. Some fair. Some not. But he is like Trump in one critical way: He’s deeply divisive. If he wins, half the city will be pissed. If he loses, half the city will be pissed. And as the results come in, the city will be deeply divided, socially fragile, and politically flammable. And Trump, our enemies, and many others will try to exacerbate it. They will try to weaken us. They will try to exploit this moment of vulnerability for their own gain and motives. And try to hurt our city. And our children who live here. We can’t let them. All of us New Yorkers—no matter who we vote for—must work and fight against that. We’ve had very shitty mayors before. Too many times. And if we get one again, we can’t let it define our great city. Just like we can’t let Trump define America. Only we can do that. And now more than ever, we must. Just like we did after 9/11 and so many times before and after. And we do it through our calm, our focus, our heart, our respect, our dedication to our city and to each other. With our work. With our toughness. With our togetherness. And by our example. Because while our enemies are celebrating, our personal energy is contagious. And our kids are watching. And they need us to be strong like only New Yorkers can be. Now more than ever. Onward.🗽🇺🇸
