Ladies and gentlemen, the most honest assessment from a BYU fan.
A one-eyed man in the land of the blind is king.
There you have it, folks.
Replying to @100ThingsUtah @CollegeGameDay
No, most public reaction has not sided with McAfee. Fans and media largely call his response soft or an overreaction to mild student impressions in a university Instagram video. The Charlie Kirk reference drew particular pushback. Utah apologized for missing the mark, but the consensus online treats the complaints as thin-skinned rather than justified.
I want an apology from every Big 12 for calling Utah fans arrogant and insufferable.
We were ahead of the curve from Day 1 about this being a truck stop league and a 10 am Holy War in early November solidifies this view, in stone.
Fuck this truckstop league.
Oh please let Lincoln come to the Big 12!
Boy … if the Atonement exists for the purpose of getting over a devastating sports loss, this Bills, Utes, Sabres, Jazz and Cubs fan is in massive trouble.
Throwing the ball at the feet of an eligible receiver who’s engaged in blocking to avoid a sack needs to be grounding.
Did the ESPN bring up the possibility Houston let Utah score the last TD?
Down 1, with only one timeout just outside the 2MW and trailing by 1, it would make a lot of sense.
Get the ball outside the 2MW down 8 with that one timeout left, or down 4 with under 1:30 left and no timeouts. And a defensive penalty all but ensures you don’t get the ball back.
There is one way to guarantee Houston’s strategy blows up on them, and that would’ve been for Utah to go for 2 and get it to a two-possession game.
I would’ve loved to have been on social media for THAT discussion in real time, lol.
I’m gonna be on a Frontier flight with no Wi-Fi for a significant chunk of the second half.
Now I know how the Apollo 13 crew felt when it slingshotted around the moon in order to redirect itself back to earth. What will be on the other side when I land in Las Vegas?
Some Michigan fans refuse to get it. Took a lot of Utah fans a while to come around too. Beck is doing the best he can within the confines of Kyle’s vision of the offense. Because Kyle is the OC.
We need @FitzMagic_14’s opinion on this Indiana-Michigan game — especially the QB play!
I’d love to say something profound and insightful about Saturday’s game against Houston while remaining confident of a Utah win but if you’ve followed me on this app, you know I don’t do fakery all that well.
To be blunt, Houston has the advantage in coaching and their QB has been better than ours. Not a good combination in any circumstance but now we’re saddled with a pass rush that couldn’t crash a Tri Delt soirée and a secondary that has recently developed a remarkable inability to covering its own shadow much less Big 12 receivers.
We can win but it’s gonna take a lot of fan- and MUSS-forced errors inflicted on the Cougs’ offense. We’ll need to unleash something new on offense and we cannot let up on offense.
I’ll say it right now — Byrd has averaged 5.3 runs and completions per game this year. It was 6.8 last year, 4.6 if you take away his start against CU.
He didn’t return to Utah for the money he’s getting this year not to be used more advantageously. I’m setting the total of Byrd runs and completions at 11.5 and if he hits the over, we win.
It’ll be one helluva slow play by our staff to truly unleash something that has UH spinning its wheels all game but it wouldn’t be unprecedented. But we are what we are on defense, and it ain’t pretty at all.
I’d like to say Utah 48, Houston 45, but I’m really afraid of what I believe is more likely — Houston 41, Utah 34.
