Houshmandzadeh questioned why Jared Verse expected his teammates to defend him after the Steelers incident, arguing that Verse needed to get up and stand up for himself before expecting others to step in. “If you’re a player and you’re on the ground, how do your teammates know you got on the ground? Nobody is even looking. This is how you get your teammates to get on your defense: You get up, and you defend yourself. They want you to start to defend yourself, and your teammates are like, ‘Wait. What’s going on?’ Then, they can come in. Nobody saw what happened. You didn’t even get up and do anything. How am I gonna defend somebody that ain’t ready to defend themselves?
