Intapp said on Tuesday that fiscal first-quarter subscription revenue rose 29% from a year earlier to $125.5 million and total revenue rose 16% to $161.3 million, both above the top of the ranges it gave in August, and raised its full-year outlook. Cloud annual recurring revenue grew 28% to $515.3 million, 85% of total ARR of $607.1 million, and trailing 12-month cloud net revenue retention was 123%. Non-GAAP EPS rose to 44 cents from 24 cents a year earlier, above its 39 cents to 41 cents guidance; the GAAP net loss narrowed to 2 cents a share from 18 cents. Non-GAAP operating income was $35.4 million versus $20.9 million, also above its $33.4 million to $34.4 million guidance. Intapp now sees fiscal 2027 subscription revenue of $530.5 million to $534.5 million, a midpoint of $532.5 million, up from $530.7 million in August, and non-GAAP EPS of $1.64 to $1.68, a midpoint of $1.66, up from $1.60. It also lifted its full-year total revenue outlook to $658.2 million to $662.2 million, from $656.5 million to $660.5 million, and non-GAAP operating income to $136.8 million to $140.8 million, from $134.7 million to $138.7 million. For the second quarter it guided subscription revenue of $129.1 million to $130.1 million, a midpoint of $129.6 million. Why it matters: Intapp, which describes itself as the leading governed #AI platform for professional firms, says it accelerated its Firm AI strategy through the general availability of Intapp Celeste, announced July 15, and the introduction of Compliance with Celeste and Time with Celeste, announced Aug. 19, embedding agentic AI into professional firms' business acceptance, risk management, and revenue workflows. Teradyne said on Tuesday that third-quarter revenue rose 70% from a year earlier to $1.31 billion, above the top of its own $1.2 billion to $1.3 billion guidance, with record revenue in memory and integrated systems test that the #ChipTesting company said was driven by all things AI. Semiconductor test revenue was $1.07 billion, product test $138 million and robotics $96 million, which Teradyne said was the unit's highest third-quarter revenue to date, adding that robotics achieved profitability. Non-GAAP earnings per share rose to $2.29 from 85 cents a year earlier, above the $1.85 to $2.15 it had forecast in July, and GAAP EPS climbed to $2.17 from 75 cents. GAAP gross profit rose to $771 million, a 59.1% margin against 58.4% a year earlier, and operating income nearly tripled to $402 million from $145 million. Revenue slipped from a record $1.33 billion in the second quarter. For the fourth quarter, Teradyne guided revenue of $1.25 billion to $1.35 billion and non-GAAP EPS of $1.95 to $2.25, midpoints $50 million and 10 cents above the third-quarter guidance it gave in July. Why it matters: Teradyne chief executive Greg Smith says demand extended across the #AI value chain, from memory and hard disk drive test to high-speed interconnect and robotics, and that the company approaches 2027 with a more diversified business and an expanding set of opportunities. "Our wafer to data center strategy and the breadth of our portfolio sustained positive momentum in Q3," said CEO Greg Smith. NXP Semiconductors said on Tuesday that third-quarter revenue rose 19% from a year earlier to $3.79 billion, above the $3.75 billion midpoint of its own guidance, and that its board authorized a new $5 billion share buyback on top of the $1.3 billion left under its prior program. Industrial and IoT revenue jumped 39% to $802 million and communications infrastructure and other rose 54% to $503 million, while automotive, the Dutch #Semiconductors company's largest business, grew 13% to $2.07 billion and mobile fell 4% to $411 million. Non-GAAP earnings per share rose to $4.20 from $3.11 a year earlier, above the $4.11 midpoint of its forecast, and GAAP EPS climbed to $3.48 from $2.48. Non-GAAP gross margin widened to 58.6% from 57.0%, and non-GAAP free cash flow was $1.21 billion, or 31.9% of revenue. For the fourth quarter, NXP guided revenue of $3.75 billion to $3.95 billion, a $3.85 billion midpoint that would be up 15% from a year earlier, and non-GAAP EPS of $4.14 to $4.58. During the third quarter, NXP said in August that BMW Group would deploy its ultra-wideband ranging and radar solutions across its fleet, and VSMC, its joint venture with Vanguard International Semiconductor, opened its first 300mm fab in Singapore in late September. Why it matters: NXP chief executive Rafael Sotomayor says software-defined vehicles are driving increasing demand for its next-generation solutions, while data center infrastructure and Trusted Physical #AI applications create new vectors for long-term growth. "Our performance was driven by accelerating contributions from our company-specific growth drivers in automotive and industrial as well as continued momentum in data center infrastructure," said Rafael Sotomayor, NXP President and Chief Executive Officer. F5 (@F5) said on Tuesday that fiscal fourth-quarter revenue rose 13% to $917 million, above the top of its own $870 million to $890 million guidance, as product revenue jumped 23% to $510 million, and its board authorized an additional $1.5 billion for share buybacks. Systems revenue grew 29% to $239 million and software revenue 19% to $271 million, while services revenue rose 3% to $408 million. Non-GAAP earnings per share were $4.42, against $4.39 a year earlier and above the $4.14 to $4.26 the #Cybersecurity and app delivery company had forecast in July; GAAP EPS slipped to $3.23 from $3.26, and non-GAAP operating margin narrowed to 33.7% from 37.0%. For the full fiscal year, revenue rose 11% to $3.42 billion, ahead of the 9% to 10% growth outlook F5 had raised in July, and non-GAAP EPS was $17.49, above its $17.21 to $17.33 forecast. For fiscal 2027, F5 guided revenue growth of 8% to 9% and non-GAAP EPS of $18.00 to $18.30, and for the first quarter it expects revenue of $875 million to $895 million and non-GAAP EPS of $4.25 to $4.37. The new buyback authorization comes on top of the $322 million remaining under its existing program. Why it matters: F5 chief executive François Locoh-Donou says frontier #AI is accelerating vulnerability discovery to machine speed and expanding the attack surface through APIs and AI agents, and that F5 is focused on using AI to identify risk earlier and enforcing consistent protection at runtime across every environment. "Nine consecutive quarters of double-digit product revenue growth reflect F5's expanding strategic role as our customers navigate hybrid multicloud complexity, an intensifying threat landscape, and a rapidly evolving AI-driven world," said François Locoh-Donou, F5's Chairman, President and CEO. Logitech said on Tuesday that sales for its fiscal second quarter rose 3%, or 2% in constant currency, to $1.22 billion, near the top of its own $1.185 billion to $1.22 billion outlook, and forecast that third-quarter sales could fall as much as 5% in constant currency as a #Semiconductor supplier recovers from a factory incident. Non-GAAP operating income was $231 million, up 0.4% and above the $185 million to $210 million the company had guided for in July, which chief financial officer Matteo Anversa said was driven by very strong gross margins; non-GAAP gross margin rose 140 basis points to 45.2%. Non-GAAP earnings per share rose to $1.51 from $1.45 a year earlier, and GAAP EPS to $1.25 from $1.15. Video collaboration sales grew 12% and #Gaming 8%, while tablet accessories fell 32% and webcams 9%. Logitech returned $406 million to shareholders through its annual dividend and share buybacks. For the December quarter, Logitech guided sales of $1.36 billion to $1.43 billion, down 4% to up 1% in dollars and down 5% to flat in constant currency, with non-GAAP operating income of $220 million to $255 million. That range includes an estimated $70 million to $80 million hit from the supplier incident, which Logitech first disclosed in July, when it estimated the third-quarter impact at up to $200 million. Why it matters: Logitech says the supplier's facility, closed at the end of June after a serious incident, opened in September and began ramping up production, and although its capacity is still below Logitech's required level, the company expects it to resume full production by the end of the calendar year. "We delivered our eleventh consecutive quarter of growth and launched 19 new products for the holiday quarter," said Hanneke Faber, Logitech chief executive officer. Seagate (@Seagate) said on Tuesday that revenue for its fiscal first quarter, ended Oct. 2, jumped 61% from a year earlier to $4.23 billion, above the top of its own guidance of $4.1 billion, plus or minus $100 million, and forecast another big step up for the December quarter. Non-GAAP earnings per share rose to $7.68 from $2.61 a year earlier, also above the top of the $7.30, plus or minus 20 cents, the #DataStorage maker had guided for in July, while GAAP EPS was $7.59, up from $2.43. Non-GAAP gross margin widened to 57.8% from 40.1%, and non-GAAP operating margin to 50.7% from 29.0%. Free cash flow was $1.5 billion; Seagate retired about $1.2 billion of debt in the quarter and another $750 million after it ended, cutting gross debt to $1.6 billion, and raised its quarterly dividend by about 3% to 76 cents. For the fiscal second quarter, Seagate guided revenue of $4.8 billion, plus or minus $100 million, and non-GAAP EPS of $9.20, plus or minus 20 cents; those midpoints are $700 million and $1.90 above the midpoints of the first-quarter guidance it gave in July. Why it matters: Seagate says long-term customer demand visibility reinforces its view of a multi-year growth phase, and that its #HAMR-based technology roadmap lets it address growing exabyte demand through areal density gains while maintaining supply discipline. "Seagate delivered another quarter of record profitability and our highest ever free cash flow in the September quarter, demonstrating the earnings power of our business amid a strengthening demand environment," said Dave Mosley, Seagate's chair and chief executive officer. ASM International said on Tuesday that third-quarter revenue rose 45%, or 44% at constant currencies, to a record €1.16 billion, at the upper end of its own guidance of €1.1 billion, plus or minus 5%, and above the €1.10 billion analysts had expected, according to Reuters. The Dutch #Semiconductors equipment maker said sales were driven by strong #AI-related demand, an acceleration in advanced logic and foundry, including a first solid contribution from 1.4nm investments, and strong growth in memory. Gross margin held at 52.0%, against 51.9% a year earlier, and adjusted operating profit jumped 56% to €386.7 million, for a margin of 33.4%. Net earnings fell to €308.1 million, or €6.27 per diluted share, from €384.1 million, or €7.82, a year earlier, when results included a €181.4 million impairment reversal on investments in associates; adjusted net earnings rose to €315.4 million from €206.2 million. ASM expects fourth-quarter revenue of €1.23 billion, plus or minus 5%, at constant currencies, above the €1.18 billion LSEG consensus, and full-year 2026 revenue up about 35%. For 2027 it now projects more than €5.7 billion at constant currencies, which it said means reaching the revenue target it set for 2030 at its Investor Day in September 2025 three years ahead of plan. At that event it had given a 2027 range of €3.7 billion to €4.6 billion, and in July it said 2027 would exceed the top of that range; analysts polled by LSEG had expected €5.41 billion. ASM also authorized a new share buyback of up to €300 million after completing a €150 million program announced in March. Why it matters: ASM said it can now confirm a solid double-digit increase in its served available market at 1.4nm compared with 2nm, together with higher market share, and expects advanced logic and foundry to be its strongest growth driver in 2027, though it warned that supply chain conditions are increasingly tight. "The demand environment remains very strong. The continued build-out of AI infrastructure is driving significant capacity requirements across the industry, particularly in the leading edge," said Hichem M'Saad, CEO of ASM. Google DeepMind (@GoogleDeepMind) announced Genie 4 on Tuesday, an #AI world model that generates interactive, real-time simulations with native audio, including ambient sound, music and dialogue, and lets users steer a scene with natural-language prompts such as changing the weather, moving the camera or adding a character. Google says Gemini 3.8 Flash acts as a guiding agent in the loop, breaking goals into steps and reviewing incoming frames to check that each step succeeded, while Gemini Omni anchors the simulations in real-world appearance and behavior. Genie 4 is rolling out as a research preview to trusted testers, with Google AI Ultra subscribers in Project Genie and early-access partners of the Gemini API and AI Studio to follow. It succeeds Genie 3, which DeepMind announced in August 2025. The Verge reported that Genie 4 experiences can run about two minutes, up from one minute for Genie 3; Google DeepMind's post gives no duration, saying only that Genie 4 keeps environments coherent over short sessions and that details and object permanence can still drift as a simulation runs longer. All video and audio generated by Genie 4 will carry Google's SynthID watermark. Why it matters: Google says pairing Gemini with Genie 4 lets it model complex, multi-step events and test how AI systems navigate different environments before bringing them to the real world, including training environments for #Robots and agents. "The most dramatic leap is how Genie 4 simulates people, creating characters that move naturally, respond organically to their environments, and can be interactively steered in real-time," Raia Hadsell, Diego Rivas and Hang Qi wrote in Google DeepMind's announcement. Oracle (@Oracle) said on Tuesday that Google (@Google) #TPU chips will be available through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, which the companies said marks the first time Google's tensor processing units will be offered on a hyperscale cloud platform outside Google. The companies said availability starts in calendar 2027 and ramps over several years, and highlighted Google's eighth-generation chips, the TPU 8t for training and the TPU 8i for inference. Oracle used its AI World conference in Las Vegas to widen its chip lineup further. Cerebras (@cerebras) said its inference service is planned for OCI in 2027, and Reuters reported that Oracle and Nvidia will expand to "multi-gigawatt scale" with Vera Rubin servers, and that those systems will use Oracle's own Acceleron networking chips in place of some of Nvidia's. The outlets listed the other additions differently: CNBC reported that OpenAI's Jalapeño chip will run on OCI, while Reuters named SambaNova. Oracle separately said it is bringing ChatGPT and Codex into its applications. The TPU deal builds on an earlier tie-up, announced in August 2025, to offer Google's Gemini models through OCI. Why it matters: Oracle says OCI will provide the power, cooling and data center networking to deploy the TPUs at scale within its own infrastructure, putting Google's custom #AI chips inside another company's data centers. "Bringing Google TPUs to OCI gives customers access to multiple leading AI compute architectures in one cloud," said Mahesh Thiagarajan, president, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Temenos said on Tuesday that third-quarter subscription and #SaaS revenue rose 22% in constant currency to $121.8 million, short of the at-least-30% constant-currency growth it had guided for in July, which the Swiss #BankingSoftware maker blamed on one large deal in Africa that signed in the first days of the fourth quarter. Non-IFRS revenue rose 13% to $292.8 million, below the $296.7 million expected by analysts polled by AWP, while annual recurring revenue grew 12% in constant currency to $904 million. Non-IFRS EBIT climbed 29%, or 26% in constant currency, to $109.3 million, ahead of the $99.9 million AWP consensus, and non-IFRS earnings per share rose to $1.23 from 93 cents a year earlier; IFRS EPS was 92 cents, up from 65 cents. Free cash flow rose 24% to $36.4 million. Temenos raised its 2026 guidance for non-IFRS EBIT growth to about 12% in constant currency from about 9%, and for reported EPS growth to about 10% from about 7%, while reconfirming about 12% ARR growth, about 9% subscription and SaaS growth, about 16% free cash flow growth and its 2028 targets. It said the integration of additiv, the Zurich wealth-software company whose acquisition closed in July, is progressing, with a new tier 1 bank deal signed in Asia-Pacific. Why it matters: Temenos credited AI-driven efficiency savings, good cost control and operating leverage for its profit growth, which lifted its non-IFRS EBIT margin to 37.3% from 32.7%, and said a strong pipeline of deals leaves it confident of delivering its full-year guidance. "We saw good underlying business momentum in the third quarter, supported by a stable sales environment, and we signed all of the revenue that had slipped from the second quarter," said Temenos CEO Takis Spiliopoulos. General Compute, a San Francisco startup that runs an #AI inference cloud on specialized chips, said it raised $100 million in Series A funding co-led by Blackbird and Abstract, with participation from Fuse Venture Partners, Village Global and others. TechCrunch reported that the round values the company at $800 million post-money, up from $60 million after its seed round in May. The company finances, deploys and operates GPUs alongside purpose-built #Inference chips from Cerebras (@cerebras), SambaNova (@SambaNovaAI) and Positron AI, and sells either dedicated bare metal or a guaranteed tokens-per-second service level. It says its first major deployments go live in the first quarter of 2027, with more than 50 MW of capacity in the pipeline. The raise follows deals the company announced earlier: a debt facility of up to $400 million from Upper90 in July for a cloud built on SambaNova chips, a multi-year agreement to deploy Cerebras wafer-scale systems in September, and an agreement to buy Positron's Atlas systems on Oct. 20. The company's release claims results up to 40x faster than GPUs, though the same release elsewhere cites up to 20x. Why it matters: according to TechCrunch, a deal with a large customer worth $100 million in annual recurring revenue paved the way for the round, which comes after shares of publicly traded #Neocloud CoreWeave fell to a 12-month low on Monday. "The era of one-size-fits-all AI hardware is over. As inference becomes the largest and most complex workload in computing, the future belongs to specialized silicon," said Finn Puklowski, co-founder and CEO of General Compute. Machenta, a London #Robotics startup spun out of Imperial College London, has raised a $40 million seed round co-led by Creandum and Union Square Ventures (@usv), which Imperial calls the largest seed raise ever by a UK robotics startup. Business Insider first reported the round, which Machenta told the publication exclusively. Machenta says it has built a robot foundation model, trained entirely in #Simulation without real-world data, that learns a new task from a single demonstration with no further training. The company says the same model runs on six different robots and with four teaching methods, and that in hour-long weekend stress tests its robots completed 74 of 74 block placements and 97 of 99 attempts to stand a bottle upright. The work builds on six years of one-shot learning research in Edward Johns's Robot Learning Lab at Imperial, including the Instant Policy method presented at ICLR 2025. Business Insider reported that the 11-person company declined to disclose its valuation, remains focused on research with no near-term plans to commercialize, and still finds more precise tasks and complex movements challenging. Imperial said the money will go toward scaling the model and expanding the team at a new office and lab in King's Cross, London. Why it matters: Business Insider noted that Machenta faces far better-funded #PhysicalAI rivals, including Skild AI, valued at more than $14 billion, which unveiled a model in August that it said could perform previously unseen tasks after a single video demonstration. "Intelligence is not so much about what you can already do, it's about how quickly you can learn to do something new," said Professor Edward Johns, co-founder and CEO of Machenta. Anduril (@anduriltech) and Qualcomm (@Qualcomm) unveiled BlueChip, a new product line meant to rebuild American computer manufacturing, starting with a laptop designed and assembled in the United States. Qualcomm Technologies will supply its #Snapdragon X Series platform for the laptop's core computing, including general-purpose processing, graphics and on-device #AI. Anduril says it has already built functional prototypes and plans to begin taking orders in 2027, with circuit board assembly planned for its Arsenal-1 facility in Ohio, the site it announced in January 2025 as its first hyperscale #Manufacturing plant. The two companies have worked together before: Anduril named Qualcomm Technologies in September 2025 as a partner on the helmet-mounted mixed-reality system it is developing for the U.S. Army. Components from U.S. and allied-country suppliers account for more than 90% of the prototypes' component procurement cost, the companies said, while a fully domestic supply chain remains a long-term goal under a phased approach. Asked during a virtual media Q&A what share of the components will be made in the U.S. at launch, Anduril founder Palmer Luckey said "TBD," adding that the first laptop it ships will most likely not be 100% American, The Verge reported. Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon told The Verge the company intends to manufacture the laptop's processors at TSMC Arizona. Why it matters: The companies said the U.S. has already invested billions of dollars in domestic semiconductor production, but complete computers also require circuit boards, displays, batteries and other components that are still largely produced overseas. "I'd say the worst case here is that this is going to be a low volume laptop for critical industries and government needs that desperately need something like this to exist," Luckey said during the Q&A, according to The Verge. Commvault said in its fiscal second-quarter #Earnings release that subscription revenue rose 21% to $268.5 million in the quarter ended Sept. 30, above its own guidance of $264 million to $268 million, with #SaaS revenue up 33% to $106 million and subscription annualized recurring revenue, or ARR, up 20% to $1,104 million. Total revenue rose 13% to $312.4 million. Non-GAAP EBIT margin was 21.9%, versus guidance of approximately 20%; GAAP operating margin was 9.7%, and GAAP net income rose to $29.1 million, or 69 cents a diluted share, from $14.7 million, or 33 cents, a year earlier. Perpetual license revenue fell 40% and perpetual support revenue fell 23% year over year. Why it matters: Commvault raised its fiscal 2027 outlook and now expects subscription revenue of $1,127 million to $1,133 million, up from the $1,119 million to $1,129 million it guided in July, subscription ARR of $1,205 million to $1,215 million, up from $1,200 million to $1,210 million, and free cash flow of $255 million to $265 million, up from $250 million to $260 million. For the third quarter it expects subscription revenue of $293 million to $297 million. "With AI accelerating both innovation and risk in the enterprise, resilience continues to be a business imperative," said Sanjay Mirchandani, President and CEO, Commvault. Commvault says the new ARR outlook midpoint of $1,210 million reflects a $3 million negative year-to-date currency impact and an $8 million upward adjustment from its earlier $1,205 million midpoint. Beginning in fiscal 2027, subscription revenue includes term-based support revenue, with prior periods reclassified. The outlook is forward-looking. Apple (@Apple) said it is adding new #AI features to Apple Creator Studio, its collection of creative apps, including a new intelligent assistant in beta for Logic Pro for Mac "powered by a combination of Apple-built models and OpenAI" and Generate Fill in Pixelmator Pro, which edits selected areas of an image based on a user's description. Final Cut Pro for Mac now integrates MotionVFX visual effects, templates and motion graphics tools; MotionVFX had said on its website on March 16 that it was joining Apple, as MacRumors first reported. Logic Pro's Stem Splitter can now isolate, replace or rebalance drum parts. Apple says the updates will be available on the App Store this November as a free update for existing subscribers; new subscribers pay $12.99 a month or $129 a year in the U.S. Why it matters: Apple says new Model Context Protocol (#MCP) support in Keynote, Pages and Numbers enables external AI agents and tools to read content, perform edits and execute automated actions directly in the apps. "And the assistant capabilities in Logic Pro, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers are going to change the game for how people interact with and learn to use these apps," said Brent Chiu-Watson, Apple's senior director of Worldwide Product Marketing for Apps and iCloud. Apple had already listed an Intelligent Assistant in beta for Creator Studio subscribers, along with Keynote's new .keyx Interchange Format, in its Keynote 15.4.1 App Store notes on Oct. 22, when 9to5Mac and MacRumors reported the assistant arriving in Keynote, Pages and Numbers. An earlier Apple support document, dated Sept. 29, already said Keynote's Generate Presentation feature in Creator Studio is powered by OpenAI. Apple says the assistants are in beta and available in U.S. English only. The Logic Pro assistant requires macOS 27 or later on an Apple Intelligence-capable Mac; the Keynote, Pages and Numbers assistants require an Apple Intelligence-capable device running iOS 27, iPadOS 27 or macOS 27 or later; and MCP support requires macOS 27 or later. Corning said third-quarter core sales rose 19% to $5.08 billion and core EPS rose 36% to $0.91, results it said exceeded guidance, as Optical Communications sales rose 44% to $2.38 billion and Enterprise Networks Gen #AI product sales grew more than 100% year over year. Corning had guided on July 28 for third-quarter core sales of $4.9 billion to $5 billion and core EPS of $0.85 to $0.89, so both came in above the top of that range. On a GAAP basis, third-quarter sales were $4.86 billion, up 18%, and EPS was $0.78, up 56%. Corning said Solar grew sales 37% as production continued to ramp, "albeit at a slower pace than anticipated," and that Glass Innovations outperformed TV unit, notebook and #smartphone markets, "which have been impacted by memory pricing"; Glass Innovations sales fell 3% year over year. Corning said it secured four long-term, multibillion-dollar customer agreements in the third quarter, including with Verizon and AT&T, deals it had announced earlier, on Sept. 8 and Sept. 29. Wendell P. Weeks, chairman, chief executive officer, and president, said, "We delivered an outstanding third quarter." Why it matters: Corning said it expects fourth-quarter core sales of $5.2 billion to $5.3 billion and core EPS of $0.96 to $1.00, and CFO Ed Schlesinger said that when Corning upgraded its Springboard plan in May, it laid out a path to double its annualized sales run rate from $20 billion to $40 billion by the end of 2030. Counterpoint Research estimates that global sales of #Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max rose 3.1% year on year in the first three weeks after their September launch, compared with sales of the iPhone 17 Pro series over the same three-week period a year ago, calling it a mixed start with growth concentrated in China. In its Oct. 27 insight, based on its Smartphone Weekly Sales Tracker estimates rather than Apple data, Counterpoint said China sales rose 29% year on year over the same three weeks, driven by better early supply compared with last year and by price increases on competing flagship models from Chinese Android OEMs, and that excluding China's contribution, the global sales growth rate would have been far weaker. Sales declined year on year in the US and Japan, affected by higher prices compared with their predecessors; Counterpoint said US consumers largely do not perceive meaningful improvements over the previous models, while in Japan demand has contracted as exchange rates amplified the price increases. The Pro Max accounted for 56% of the series' sales in the period, down from 57% last year. Counterpoint earlier said, on Sept. 30, that iPhone 18 Pro series #smartphone sales in China rose 12% year on year in their first three days on sale, Sept. 18 to 20, citing its China weekly sell-out tracker. Associate Director Sujeong Lim commented, "Whether China's outperformance reflects durable demand or front-loaded buying will become clearer in the coming weeks." Why it matters: Research Director Tarun Pathak added that Counterpoint is tracking sales weekly to see how demand holds once the usual launch-window spike fades, "and that will shape the holiday quarter." He also said, "Overall upgrade cycles are stretching." Nidec has decided to file a suit for damages against nine former executives, including six former directors, among them Shigenobu Nagamori, based on an investigation report from its Executive Responsibility Investigation Committee, the Kyoto, #Japan-based company said on Oct. 27. In its Oct. 27 release, Nidec said the suit also covers two former corporate auditors and a former vice president who was its CFO from May 2022 to March 2026. Nidec said it plans to examine the amounts of compensation to seek and will file the #lawsuit as soon as it is ready to do so, and it has delegated authority over the suit to attorneys who served as members and the assistant of the committee. Nidec earlier said, on Oct. 16, that it had received the committee's report, and on Oct. 20, when it disclosed the report, that it was deliberating legal actions such as a claim for damages. Why it matters: Nidec said in its Oct. 16 release that it set up the committee in March to examine whether current and former directors, auditors and vice presidents bear legal liability over instances of improper accounting within its group. Its Oct. 27 release added that the committee's report excluded the appropriation of surplus from the investigation, and that Nidec will examine legal actions such as a lawsuit over that matter after completing the correction of past fiscal years' financial statements. Vend said third-quarter EBITDA rose 11% to NOK 711 million as revenue rose 3% to NOK 1,641 million, or 6% in constant currency, and the Nordic online #marketplaces operator raised its target for cutting costs in 2026. In its Oct. 27 interim report, Vend said the EBITDA margin rose about three percentage points to 43%. It defines EBITDA, an alternative performance measure, as earnings before depreciation and amortisation, other income and other expenses, impairment, joint ventures and associates, interests and taxes. Vend now expects its 2026 cost base, operating expenses excluding cost of goods sold, to decline by around NOK 250 million year on year, up from around NOK 150 million indicated at the second quarter. Recommerce EBITDA was NOK -43 million, reflecting increased marketing and shipping incentives in Norway. Vend earlier said, on Oct. 26, that it had called an extraordinary general meeting to secure flexibility for further share buybacks after its current NOK 4 billion programme. CEO Christian Printzell Halvorsen said in the release that #AI features are live across all of Vend's verticals. "AI makes our current products better, from AI-assisted listing creation and semantic search in Recommerce to virtual staging and interactive floor plans in Real Estate and AI recommendations for car dealers in Mobility," Halvorsen adds. Why it matters: Vend said its year-to-date EBITDA margin of 40%, up from 27% in the same period of 2024, is still below leading international marketplaces, and that improving it remains a key priority.
