9:07 am in #Kyiv Air siren all clear. 13 drones were shot down. I postponed a visit to the dentist. Made breakfast. Said Mom ‘We’re ok’. Have read that Mr New Twitter is hiding Ukraine from you. But we’re still here. We’re loud, I want everyone to see this Ukrainian tweet

Have you been tested at a Center for COVID Control site? The national COVID-19 testing chain is temporarily shutting down amid a federal investigation + mounting complaints. You're going to want to read this by @BauerJournalism: blockclubchicago.org/2022/01…

Omicron doesn’t affect the lungs like Delta and like other variants have BUT many Drs are warning it’s still having the same impact on other organs from kidney failure to brain, long Covid is affecting the heart & they’re seeing lots of patients with swollen legs from blood clots

1/ The first thing to say is that if someone has #COVID19 symptoms (#Omicron most common: nasal congestion/runny nose, scratchy sore throat, fever, & aches), you have to assume they have it. You may not have a test (urgent cares are still open & do) or they may still be neg.

I’ve seen a lot of Covid in the ER recently. With so many people getting infected recently, some folks may wonder what’s the point of getting vaccinated at all? And is there really any value to a booster dose if I’ve had two Pfizer/Moderna or a shot of J&J? My observations: 🧵

Remember that you can get tested at urgent cares. They have tests & most are open even on holidays. I’ve had good luck finding affordable home rapid antigen tests online at Walmart.com intermittently as well as at ihealthlabs.com pretty consistently.

15/ These include monoclonal antibodies (some brands no longer work vs #Omicron, but 1 called sotrovimab remains effective). It is given IV as a single dose. There are also two types of pills taken for 5d at home. All are in short supply at the moment. google.com/amp/s/abcnews.go.….

Tweet 5: A simple device you can rig up yourself (or "MacGyver" yourself...shout out to #GenX) is called a Corsi-Rosenthal box. If you can wrap a Xmas gift, you can make this inexpensively in 45 mins: youtube.com/watch?v=aEn2xzlv…, & they are very effective: cbsn.ws/3sjpflQ.
