As for the rest, the usual favourites remain in place. We will never tire of Regent Street’s floating angels (known officially as the ‘’Spirits of Christmas’), Bond Street (New and Old) continues to dazzle, and the Covent Garden area is always worth a visit. More pictures, enjoy.

1. Carnaby Street is unique (in our experience) in that it provides a different display with an imaginative new theme every year. They can be a little bit hit and miss, but 2023’s is definitely a hit hence its #1 position in our list! The theme is simply Carnaby Universe.

2. We had no idea there was a display on Savile Row. But what a glorious sight to behold! A series of golden shears cutting a piece of fabric representing the area’s craftmanship heritage to splendid effect can be seen all along the southern half of the street.

No 3. Marylebone High Street has a warmth and conviviality that you don’t often associate with the central London. For 2023, they have a brand-new set of lights for the first time in many years – an intricate tangle of golden leaves and branches stretching down the High Street.

No 4. We’re giving St Martin’s Lane a plug which is now in its second year. It handily connects Trafalgar Square directly with Covent Garden whose sparkling red tree returns once again, and may still be our favourite.

No 5. is some way west of our map over at Hammersmith station but we just happened to be passing through the area recently and were struck by its originality and festive allure! Instead of the conventional Christmas tree, they’ve put up a Christmas train.
