Took this photo of my daughter on the ride home from our first playground visit and it sums up the beauty of the cargo bike baby life. ❤️

This is such an odd thing. How did we get to the point that obviously open things are declared closed?
Replying to @2wheelsgoodBrum
@2wheelsgoodBrum we’ve got more of these strange people @lfg_uk trying to claim that something that is open is closed 🙄

A new era for the nation’s high street starts in two days. Nearly a kilometre of Oxford Street will become traffic-free, creating more space for people and marking the beginning of its biggest transformation in a generation.

Cyclists and pedestrians in Sutton Coldfield will be particularly pleased to see the changes at this junction. Much safer for those walking to cross, and advanced stop lines for cyclists. These changes will keep existing cyclists safer, even if it will encourage few to start.

This is such good news. We're adding to the 20mph speed limit streets in Sutton Coldfield. This adds to the roads where walking, wheeling and cycling is safer and to the places that are nicer to live and play.

Ambitious plans to ensure it's safer and more pleasant to walk, wheel or cycle in or through Sutton Coldfield town core take a giant leap forward. The plans also ensure we're connecting up existing active travel routes to create a network for everyone moving by foot and wheel.

It's especially pleasing to see that the new plans place an extra emphasis on linking the great separated cycleway in the town centre with existing cycling infrastructure. This will be one of the links from the town core to Sutton Park.

An average sized car produces approximately 160,000 times more road wear than an average bicycle. 100kg bicycle and rider 2000kg car Car is 20x weight of bicycle Damage ratio: Fourth power law 20 to the power 4 = 160,000 Very roughly.

How would the scheme have been improved had it been implemented later, Paul. What extra resources are required to pedestrianise the street? What does describing a pedestrian sachem as under-cooked mean? Didn’t Tim oppose the scheme he now says should take longer and cost more?
Tim Barnes spoke for all of us on BBC London today. We want Oxford Street to succeed, but the Mayor's scheme feels rushed, under-resourced and undercooked. We would have had a much better scheme if it had launched next year. #WestminsterMatters #Westminster #CityThatWorksForAll

Neighboring towns and nearby cities need a direct and efficient connection by bike just as much as they need roads.

In an ideal world, everyone would follow the rules. But with limited resources, police rightly focus on major causes of harm; last year, 364 pedestrians were killed, almost all of them hit by motor vehicles. In comparison, more pedestrians are killed by cows than cyclists.
