It went from quiet to BOOM. The rain from today's storm didn't gradually start, it was very intense from the arrival, loaded with power, lightning and thunder in the first few minutes over Santa Barbara. If you haven't seen the rain yet, that is your preview.

Just a head's up, it's 35 years, to the day, after the Oakland Hills Fire, which was one of the worst in history.
It's worth remembering that prior to that October fire, 1991 was a very slow fire season, just like this year. All it takes is one nasty wind event.
BREAKING: Firefighters from multiple agencies are battling a 2- to 3-acre vegetation fire on top of Panoramic Hill in Berkeley, authorities said Tuesday. MORE: berkeleyscanner.com/2026/10/…
#SantaAnaWinds and #FireWx threat dying down.
Attention turns to Tue-Thu as an upper low impacts #SoCal:
- Initial estimates 0.25-1.00 inches
- 20-40% chance of higher totals
- Possible thunderstorms
- Hydrologic issues possible (flooding, debris flows, etc)

If they were to underground the lines or simply clear brush underneath the power lines, they'd never have to shut down the power.
But they refuse to do that, so this is the only safe option left in Gavin's California.
In California, utility companies — NOT the Governor — decide when to implement Public Safety Power Shutoffs to PREVENT power lines from sparking wildfires during dangerous weather conditions.
That's precisely the risk Southern California is facing right now. These shutoffs are inconvenient, but they are utility SAFETY decisions, not orders from the Governor!

No CAL FIRE Helo’s are battling the Bryson Fire tonight, so idk where they are but the Governors press team is lying again
>>@CAL_FIRE nighthawks are operating through the night to fight this fire — supporting local firefighting efforts on the ground — to help keep Californians safe.
The Bryson fire started on and is currently burning on the SRA (State Responsibility Area) just like the Palisades Fire. Zero fire breaks and fuel modification zones thanks to Gavin Newsom’s CA State Parks. Are you paying attention yet? @spencerpratt @Hotshot_Movie

The Bryson Fire is now more than 100 acres. Very close to the Malibu Golf Club. Firefighters trying to keep it from jumping Mulholland
With wind gusts forecasted to increase to 50-60 mph later tonight this is a problem.
Live view from our sister station KABC of a fire near Malibu in So Cal. Evacuations are under way. Dry & very windy weather fueling the flames, now over 100 acres. Red Flag Warning & Wind Advisory in effect there now. #Brysonfire #fire #CAfire
Wind gusts overnight of 50-60 mph are going to be problematic. Ember cast may cause the fire to spot outside of any control lines. Expanded evacuation orders being issued now.
Evacuation orders in effect for the #Brysonfire, stay safe everyone! Winds are forecast to increase overnight with gusts 50-60 mph possible. #CAfire
New start at Mulholland Hwy and Encinal Cyn Rd. 2 acres in heavy brush running to the south. Lots of expensive homes that rebuilt after the Woolsey Fire in that area. Oof. share.watchduty.org/i/124876…

Southern California Edison (SCE) has informed the City that a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) is likely to occur soon in portions of Agoura Hills and surrounding areas due to wind-driven weather conditions. SCE is considering a PSPS as a precaution to help reduce wildfire risk.
Areas currently being considered for a LIKELY PSPS include:
- Old Agoura and portions of the Cheeseboro Canyon vicinity
- Eastern Agoura Hills, including areas near Agoura Road and the surrounding hillside neighborhoods
- Colodny Drive and nearby residential areas
- Lake Vista Drive and the Medea Creek vicinity
- Liberty Canyon and surrounding open-space areas

Confirmed PSPS areas include:
- Portions of eastern Agoura Hills near Agoura Road and the surrounding hillside areas
- Areas near the eastern city limits and adjacent open-space areas
- Portions of the Seminole Hot Springs vicinity and surrounding unincorporated areas
Please refer to the accompanying map for a general reference of the affected areas:
🟠 Orange-shaded areas indicate locations where a PSPS is likely to occur soon.
⚫ Black diagonal-hatched areas indicate locations where a PSPS has been confirmed.
These areas may include locations both within and outside Agoura Hills city limits. Boundaries are approximate and may change as SCE updates its assessments.
🗺️ Check your address: Visit sce.com/psps and use SCE’s address lookup tool to determine whether your property may be affected.
📱 Direct notifications: SCE will notify customers who may be affected, including Critical Care and Medical Baseline customers.
🚨 Power restoration: Once weather conditions improve and restoration is authorized, SCE crews will inspect power lines, make any necessary repairs, and work to restore power safely.
🔋 Be prepared: Residents in potentially affected areas should prepare for a temporary power outage and review their emergency plans.
For the latest information and preparedness resources, visit sce.com/psps.
Thank you for your understanding as we monitor this situation. The City will continue to share updates as additional information becomes available from SCE.

Court rules in favor of people over butterflies! Our legal team defeated J. Paul Getty Trust's demurrer that tried to unsuccessfully dismiss our Palisades Fire lawsuit by claiming they couldnt't clear flammable brush around their museum because portions of their property are a seasonal habitat for Monarch butterflies. So why didn't Getty clear its brush during non-butterfly migration months? Play stupid games win stupid prizes. @spencerpratt @JeremyCom @Hotshot_Movie news.bloomberglaw.com/litiga…

There are 11 stations hitting Red Flag conditions right now, with 25 others on the cusp. Chilao hitting nearly 80mph gusts. Just because your area is wind-sheltered doesn't really mean it's the same story 2 canyons over.
