What makes hybrid cars different from conventional petrol or diesel cars? Hybrid vehicles combine a conventional petrol engine with an electric motor and a high-voltage battery to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. Depending on driving conditions, the vehicle can use either power source or both simultaneously. Through regenerative braking, some energy normally lost during braking is recovered and used to recharge the battery. However, hybrids have additional components such as inverters, battery management systems and specialised cooling circuits, which require proper maintenance and specialised diagnostics.

So yeah, on 15th November, we meet deep in Mt. Kenya for yet another offroad challenge!
Unfortunately, we won't be inviting our friends to join us this time because this is an in-house battle. We have some unfinished business to settle 😂
But here's the good news!

For some time now, @4Real_KE has been chest thumping and calling me out for an offroad challenge.
It's been exactly one year since we restored the Jalopy 4×4 and also one year since Joan enjoyed her short lived victory when we faced off at Mt. Kenya.
So, on 15th November, we are heading back to Mt. Kenya for two main reasons.
1. Put the Jalopy to a REAL test!
One year after the restoration, we want to see how well the car has held up.
We'll be testing its suspension articulation, engine and gearbox performance,winch among other things, to demonstrate the quality of work done at Precision 4×4 Builds.
Remember, this is a car that Joan has been abusing for an entire year, yet it's still going strong.
2. Reclaim my stolen victory
Joan won the last challenge, but I still have questions about that victory.
This time, we are going back to Mt. Kenya to settle the matter once and for all.
The challenge is happening on 15th November, and we'll be livestreaming as much of the action as possible across our social media platforms.
Joan can enjoy her remaining days as the defending champion. Her time is almost up!

We often receive questions about why our pre purchase inspection reports sometimes differ from those provided by car yards.
By the fact that car yards are in the business of selling cars, it's only natural that they would want to protect their sales. As a result, there's always a possibility that their reports may not highlight certain issues that could discourage a potential buyer.
On the other hand, we are in the business of inspecting cars, NOT selling them. Our reputation depends on providing independent, honest & unbiased inspection reports to our clients, whether the findings are good or bad.
This is not to discredit inspection reports provided by car yards, but simply to explain why our findings may sometimes differ from theirs.

Yesterday someone helped me jumpstart my car battery but he told me every evening I disconnected the battery terminal and cover with a carton,I connect back the battery every morning and it worked. I feel like an engineer guys but for how long?
In Kenya, having headlight washers on your car is one thing & using them is another.
These things are stolen so much in Nairobi that you end up riveting them down just to make sure you still have them tomorrow.
A very useful feature especially for offroaders bt permanently disabled.
So now you have headlight washers that can't wash headlights, but at least they're still yours.
Always slow down when approaching corners.
Think of this.....
A Caterpillar decides to overtake a lorry on this very sharp corner. Both vehicles are moving slowly because it's uphill.
Then there's you, approaching the same corner in your Demio at high speed.
You have 3 options.
1. Collide head on with the Caterpillar.
2. Go head on with the lorry.
3. Swerve, lose control and roll over.
Whichever decision you make, the consequences are fatal.
And the sad part? You did absolutely nothing wrong, apart from approaching that corner too fast.
Always slow down when approaching corners. You never know what awaits you on the other side.
