It’s been a New York minute 🗽📸
Back in NYC and immediately taking pictures of buildings like a tourist 😂 One World Trade Center will always be one of my favorites.
No matter how many times I’ve seen this skyline, it never gets old.
The Koenig Sphere has long stood as a powerful symbol of resilience. The 45,000-pound bronze sculpture stood at the center of the original World Trade Center plaza for 30 years before surviving September 11, 2001. It's now got an entirely new light:

🍁 Today is the first day of fall! And that means seeing more pictures like this 😌
There's really nothing quite like autumn in NYC.

Twenty years ago (#onthisday in 2006) marked the start of heavy foundation construction, the installation of One World Trade Center's first steel, and the construction of the memorial's footings.

"No day shall erase you from the memory of time."
These words, written by the ancient Roman poet Virgil nearly 2,000 years ago, are inscribed at the National September 11 Memorial as a lasting promise of remembrance.
A quarter century later, the impact of September 11 remains. Today, we pause to remember the lives lost, honor the bravery shown that day, and carry forward our unwavering spirit of resilience and hope that endures 25 years later.

Last night, 2,977 lights rose above New York Harbor, one for each life lost on September 11, 2001, before forming the Twin Towers against the New York City skyline.
The commemorative installation was created in collaboration with members of the 9/11 community, including family members, survivors and first responders, to mark the 25th anniversary of the attacks.
