They chose to threaten women’s sports, destroying dreams & scholarships of girl athletes. They call us “bigots” for having a sexual orientation. They treat gay & autistic minors as acceptable collateral damage. It didn’t have to be this way, but now they reap what they sowed.

It was decided in 2018 that Littman's theory was wildly ignorant and offensive. Like, overnight. So then everyone had to reverse-engineer reasons why it couldn't be true, even though it fit how humans (esp adolescents) work pretty well. Curious how activist will respond to this.
NEW: Previous estimates found 1 in 65 teen girls in Oregon with a diagnosis of gender dysphoria. Oregon was second to Vermont in total prevalence.
A new @ManhattanInst analysis finds that in some OR & VT zip codes, 1 in 40 girls and 1 in 65 boys were diagnosed. 🧵

I order a lot of secondhand and vintage books online. This year the prices jumped and I chalked it up to inflation. I was wrong.
The reason behind the spike in prices is what AI companies euphemistically dub "destructive scanning." That is when they buy millions of second-hand books in bulk and send them to enormous warehouses across America. There, automated assembly lines cut the pages from the spines and then feed the pages into huge industrial scanners.
Those books are being harvested for their text to expand the database for the LLM models. The physical pages? Later discarded. Some of these are the last remaining editions of historical and collectible works — once they're cut and scanned, they're gone.
Booksellers across the UK, Germany, New Zealand, Australia and the U.S. are reporting the same thing: bulk, random, non-fiction orders. Orders have ranged from 1,000 books to as many as a million in a single purchase. Just one vendor contract called for scanning 500,000 to 2 million books.
Anthropic ran this under an internal name, Project Panama, and tried to keep it quiet. Some booksellers noticed something was odd. A Devon bookseller, for instance, got an odd order this summer for books on subjects as disparate as Cornish pioneers in South Africa, cheeses of the world, and Hong Kong jewelry — from a "shipping company" near Heathrow. Her suspicions grew fast. It turned out to an AI run office.
I should have seen this coming. I'm one of the author-plaintiffs in the Bartz et al. v. Anthropic class action — a different kind of theft. Anthropic had trained Claude on more than seven million digitized books, sourced from pirate websites, without paying a penny to authors or publishers. Mine included, seven of my thirteen. There are 120,000 individual authors and rightsholders (representing 447,576 eligible works out of 482,460 total listed books).
A federal judge approved the $1.5 billion settlement this summer. It was the court documents from that litigation that exposed Project Panama. I missed it until the story recently hit the Washington Post and Daily Mail and other outlets.
Having learned an expensive lesson from its class action payout, Anthropic is now going after physical books a different way — and legally, this time. Under the first-sale doctrine, established by the Supreme Court in 1908, once someone buys a physical book, they can do whatever they want with it, including destroying it.
So Anthropic attorneys have determined that buying and scanning a physical copy sidesteps the piracy problem. And once that book is shredded, any future Claude user can draw on its contents for free — the original gone forever.
Some call this a modern-day book burning. The Nazis destroyed books to erase what was in them — these companies destroy books to steal the information and then essentially sell it back to you. I am still angry this is somehow legal.

I had an intake phone call with the Detransitioner clinic at the Cleaveland Clinic this morning. The team is going to discuss the left over breast tissue that was left after my mastectomy and my complications with the trapped milk. I am hoping to find a practitioner who can actually operate and help with my issues.
I know other detransitioners who have grafted ripples and left over breast tissue who will face the same horrors I did if they give birth without receiving surgical help first. I hope that my case can help lead the way forward for other women who have had "top surgery" who want babies now. – at Dallas, TX

I am sickened by the same people who canceled me (gleefully destroying my career, income, reputation, friends, safety) now grandstanding about the evils of public scapegoating. You gonna make reparations to me now?
Rachel Levine was always straightforward about promoting hormones and surgeries for minors--except, (not so) mysteriously, when questioned about those views in Senate confirmation hearings in 2021, before being installed as Assistant Health Secretary.

Levine gave this talk in 2017. Around 22:00, Levine begins discussing under-18 transition. At 28:00, Levine suggests "accelerating" cross-sex hormones for homeless teenagers (Sen. Paul alluded to this opinion about street kids when questioning Levine).

Levine's agenda was pretty predictable, even before being confirmed by the Senate as Assistant Health Secretary in 2021.

Scoop: The Unredacted Email That Shows Exactly Who Knew Why WPATH Caved to Dr. Rachel Levine On Trans-Care Age Limits

For two years, black bars have hid the names on the email. I got the original. WPATH's president wrote to Dr. Levine and spelled out who was in the loop as they softened the age-limit recommendations.

During Levine's Senate confirmation hearing in 2021, it was pretty clear what Levine's intentions and opinions were about pediatric transition.

On the formerly public (now private) International Transgender Health Facebook page, clinicians openly discussed fraudulent coding to get around insurance denials. "Endocrine disorder NOS" is a popular one. Here are a few posts from 2017.

It's pretty common, evidently. Here are a few live posts [from the PUBLIC Transgender Health facebook page, so no anonymizing] discussing denials and use of alternate billing codes.

Some of the insurance companies caught on and "scolded" providers for their obvious miscoding.

This kind of battling has been going on for years with insurance companies, so it appears.

For years (at least as long as a decade ago) these gender doctors OPENLY talked about using fraudulent codes--on public pages and elsewhere. The hubris finally caught up to them.

Another children’s book. Another identity lesson.
Love Looks Like Lola - due to be published next month- introduces young children to the concept of being “aroace” - aromantic and asexual.
We already have countless wonderful books that teach kindness, friendship, family and belonging. Why do we also need to introduce primary-age children to another identity label?
One line in the publisher’s description particularly stood out:
“Every kind of love is worth celebrating.”
Really?
Surely part of helping children develop healthy boundaries is teaching them that not every expression of “love” is healthy, appropriate or safe.

I'm gay. Always have been. Love my husband, built a life together like normal people do.
And I'm so fed up with the Alphabet Mafia.
Pride went from 'leave us alone' to 'affirm kids, castrate teens, erase women, and call me a bigot if I say no.'
Transing children isn't care — it's child abuse.
Men in women's sports isn't inclusion — it's cheating.
'Minor attracted persons' isn't a sexuality — it's pedophilia rebranded.
I didn't fight for gay rights so the movement could become this circus of sterilization, compelled speech, and grooming.
Real gay people want peace, not endless revolution.
If that makes me a 'traitor,' so be it. Truth over tribe.

In Oregon, 1 in 65 girls received a transgender-related clinical diagnosis between 2016 and 2023.
1 in 240 girls received hormones.
Kids in Oregon were almost 20 times more likely than kids in Mississippi to have a "gender dysphoria" diagnosis.
How did this happen?
