That’s exactly what we have to overcome. Too many of our families are struggling individually when we could be building collectively. I understand family disagreements run deep, but we can’t keep letting generational grudges prevent generational wealth. We don’t even have to live under one roof. Start with a family investment fund, shared land ownership, or a small business. Establish boundaries, put agreements in writing, and build trust through results. Our grandchildren shouldn’t inherit the same struggles because we couldn’t organize.

We need to rethink multigenerational living. Family compounds don’t mean everybody sharing one house. We can build mother-in-law suites, ADUs, RV spaces, duplexes, and separate homes on shared land. Everybody keeps their privacy while pooling resources, reducing expenses, and building equity. Family disagreements shouldn’t stop generational wealth. Start small, establish boundaries, put ownership agreements in writing, and expand. We need to own the land our grandchildren will inherit.

We’re living on borrowed time. We need to return to building multigenerational homes, family compounds, and community-owned land. Nobody should spend 18 years paying rent without a pathway toward ownership or equity. We’re financing everybody else’s generational wealth while struggling to build our own. Nothing is guaranteed, and nobody is coming to save us. We have to organize, pool our resources, acquire land, build institutions, and create something our children and grandchildren can inherit. Collective ownership starts with collective action.
