Why don't consumers just eat pork? Retail beef prices have surged 65% over the past decade, reaching $9.47/lb. Beef now costs nearly 2x pork and 4x chicken — both near record relative premiums. Yet consumers continue to pay that premium. Is beef demand really this inelastic? #beef #cattle #demand

Might I advise some of you cattle guys to STFU. The guys with pitchforks about market manipulation 5 years ago now want "markets to sort it out". The guys who were for leaving the government out of the cattle business now seem eager to have a lot of govt involved.
