Proud to report that our two Black Hawk helicopters have spent approximately six hours of flight time and completed 60 successful bucket drops in support of the #RedBridgeWildfire. Our brave soldiers continue to work tirelessly to combat the blaze. #UTNG

Our @slcfire and @slcpu teams will be filling sandbags tonight at 1700 South and 1700 East to help with flooding. They could use some help from volunteers tonight. If you’re able to assist, they’d love the support. They’re filling bags near the barricades at 17th and 17th. Please be careful, and don’t enter flooded areas.

Across the Utah Department of Public Safety (@UtahDPS) our employees are considering the effects of a major earthquake by running through communication and employee recall plans. The #ShakeOut happens every year as a reminder that we can all prepare better.
The Great Utah ShakeOut is happening now. Thank you to everyone who continues to prepare for earthquakes. They have happened before and will happen again. Learn how you can prepare by going to ShakeOut.org/utah

It’s 7:09 am. Two years ago, at this moment, millions of people were awakened by the M5.7 Magna earthquake. It was the largest earthquake in Utah in a generation.

Windstorm damage? Help us track the impact of the September 8, 2020 winds by completing this quick form.: daviscountyutah.gov/windstor… Thank you, in advance.

Unfortunately it appears this will be every bit as damaging as the 2011 windstorm (potentially worse). Public safety officials will be assessing damage throughout the day. Please check on your neighbors and look for ways to serve. This is what Utah does best.

Much of Utah is under a winter storm warning, with heavy snow expected. If you are driving today, please buckle up, slow down, and increase your following distance. Plan for extreme driving conditions.

Wet roads and freezing conditions have set up black ice conditions across the Wasatch Front. If you are on the freeways, we really need you to slow down, and expect extremely slick conditions. Please help our troopers get crashes safely off the road.
We've had two Troopers hit while investigating separate crashes, one Trooper was hit twice in the same spot. They both appear to be okay. Statewide we've jumped to 215 crashes today. And we are backlogged another 30-40. If you can avoid driving for the moment, please do.
