Capital wants our bodies productive enough to exploit and our minds distracted enough to accept it. We should become stronger not to better endure exploitation, but to better fight it Read our new article (bio:) β€œTowards a Militant, Fighting Culture of the Working Class”

This article continues to get 50+ unique visitors a month. We are happy to see it! But less happy when it gets featured in security think tank analysis. If you haven't, then check it out.
While the writers of this journal are by no means long-time veterans, many of us have cross sectional experience with various maoist, leninist, and anarchist organizing efforts. Recognizing functional and dysfunctional methods and structures was the topic of our first article.

🧡 58 years ago, January 1967, an earthshaking event began in Shanghai. The start of the glorious January Storm. The working class had successfully overthrown the stronghold of the capitalist-roaders.

β€œI want to illustrate the particulars for those who have never been involved with a unionization campaign before. Even a workplace of 50 workers requires at least a year of behind-the-scenes organizing work to build up a network of reliable leaders, test your structures, etc., These steps are all necessary to enter a union representation vote with confidence. If you do win said union vote, the average time between a successful vote to be represented by a union and negotiating a first contract is over 400 days. For context, the annual turnover rate in the service industry is 74%. This means a resistant employer can and usually will hold up a successful union election in the courts long enough for almost an entire workplace to turn over. One grocery store organizer locally told me that the average turnover rate was 3 months at his store. This means the turnover of union leaders, supporters, etc., is constant in the lowest sections of the service economy, making any real attempt to use the legally sanctioned processes feel like a treadmill.” salt801.com/articles/theory-…

New Article is up! "Fundamentally we need to understand that there is no constituency for bolshevism in the US today, and understand one of our current objectives being the construction of such a constituency."

The tiny home village pushed by @slcmayor @erinforslc is an exercise in turning homelessness into an economic resource, discouraging real solutions. Read about it here; salt801.com/2023/06/28/slcs-…

2015-2020 Maoism should be looked on as a period of significant mistakes. Consider the events of 2020 and the fact that no left wing organization developed inroads with emergent militant elements, and were sidelined entirely by liberalism. Summation is essential

Repression is a major fuckin issue. Political differences (if you have them) need to necessarily take a sideline when it comes to this stuff. The people arrested in this case are some of the most committed activists in the region, and it is worth your time to help.
Please get involved with protesting the ridiculous unjust charges against the SDS activists in Tampa if you have not already. If you want to help, here are a few very easy things you can do 🧡

The construction of mass organizations is of huge importance to communists today. There is a large gulf between our ideas and priorities and the political will and capacity that presently exists among the working class. Mass organizations are the key to bridging this gap.

There is a lot of to say about the pride month discourse; there is not a single materialist argument against queer liberation. Queer people should continue to organize communists should contribute to the trend pulling the LGBTQ+ movement away from careerists and capitalists.

Excerpts from our latest article - β€˜Stop Protesting, Start Demonstrating’

We should never unconditionally stand behind formal union leaders; However, the dramatic leftward shift in the IBT as a DIRECT result of militant, shop floor activity over the last decade is notable.
‼️Statement from #Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien on the Supreme Court’s ruling today in #Glacier Northwest, Inc. v. International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local Union No. 174, which opens the door for corporations to sue their own workers. #1u @TeamsterSOB 1/9🧡...

Lastly, to be fully clear and reiterate. this is not O'Brien and TU 'saving' the teamsters from Hoffa Jr. This was conscious shop floor organizers altering conditions in a way that made Teamsters United's victory an eventual certainty.

And further; shop floor networks are what will allow the union to maintain militancy and forward momentum when the current leadership inevitably falls short of the rank and file's needs.
