Watch our Youtube Video - Never to OLD. 📽️youtu.be/ndyW_ekk0FU Today, ADHD Europe celebrates The International Day of Older Persons alongside the awareness campaign of the United Nations International Day of Older Persons, under the theme The Age of Longevity: Rethinking Systems for Longer Lives, who are calling on Governments, civil society, the private sector, researchers and older persons themselves to examine how societies can ensure that the additional years gained translate into healthy, productive, dignified and equitable lives for all. For many years, ADHD was considered primarily a childhood condition. Today, growing numbers of adults and older adults are seeking assessments and receiving diagnoses later in life. But does age influence access to diagnosis, treatment, and support? Are older individuals more likely to be overlooked, misdiagnosed, or dismissed? And what can healthcare systems do to ensure equitable access to ADHD assessment regardless of age? In this panel, we will explore how age impacts the recognition and diagnosis of ADHD, discuss the unique experiences of individuals diagnosed later in life, and examine whether current healthcare systems are prepared to meet the needs of adults and older adults with ADHD. Our panelists are - Dana Dzamic (ADHD Coach and Neurodiversity Consultant), Cecilia Ingard (co-creator of the R2D2-MH Project), Roxanne Fouché and Nina Hovén growth Motto: Nothing about us without us.
