What is this discourse? Why is no one focusing on how gender *functions*? Being trans is not contingent of having dysphoria (because dysphoria does not manifest itself in relation to The Other in meaningful ways); it's contingent on transitioning socially into another gender

Some trans people (including myself) sadly experience gender dysphoria and it's horrible, yes. That doesn't give you the right to invalidate other trans people that don't experience it.

If you transition socially into another gender, then you are transgender. If you use medical intervention in order to do that, then you are transexual. It's that simple.
