Joburg's water has not "collapsed". Parts of it have barely worked for months. Brixton got a new reservoir. Hursthill 2 slipped to 2027. Half the water we buy never reaches a paying tap. Not collapsed. Not fine either.

Small correction. "Total collapse" was one analyst's warning about what happens if nothing changes, quoted by Bloomberg. It is not an engineer's finding. What is true is bad enough: weeks without water in parts of the west and centre, and half the supply lost.
