We have watched with horror as violent riots have engulfed Paris and spread across France. What we are witnessing should serve as a cautionary tale for leaders everywhere. Failing to confront extremism and allowing extremist rhetoric and behavior to become normalized erode democratic values, deepen societal divisions, and create the conditions for political violence to take hold. For more than 20 years, @AJC_Paris has warned that rising antisemitism and extremism are not only threats to the Jewish community, but also warning signs of a deeper crisis facing French democracy and society. We stand with the peaceful, law-abiding people of France whose lives, livelihoods, and communities have been affected by the violence, and hope for a swift restoration of peace and stability. israelhayom.com/2026/10/19/f…

We strongly condemn the recent violence in which Israeli extremists attacked Palestinians, burned olive trees, and injured a Washington Post photographer. We wish Heidi Levine a full and speedy recovery from her injuries. We call for an urgent, coordinated effort from Israeli authorities to bring an end to the wave of Israeli extremist violence that has harmed civilians throughout the West Bank. Order must be restored, and violent extremists prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

We mourn the death of a 14-year-old boy killed today when unexploded Hezbollah ordnance detonated during a school hike in northern Israel near the Lebanese border, injuring 24 students and teachers. This tragedy is yet another devastating reminder of the enduring threat Hezbollah poses to innocent civilians. Hezbollah’s reckless militarization of southern Lebanon continues to exact a terrible human cost. May his memory be a blessing, and may all those injured make a full and speedy recovery. timesofisrael.com/teen-kille…

A moving moment at @Europarl_EN tonight as we remember the victims of the 7 October terrorist attack in Israel. We were joined by Omri Miran, who was taken from his loved ones and kept hostage by Hamas terrorists for 738 days. His story is not one of tears, but of resilience. Of the triumph of hope in the bleakest of circumstances. Of the power of family and love to overcome. Of light in the darkness. We remember. 🕯

Listen to the panic. The horror. The voices recorded during Hamas' morning of terror. October 7, 2023: 1,200 lives taken. More than 250 taken hostage into Gaza. Yuval, Maya, and Guy’s lives were shattered in an instant by Hamas’ cruelty. It’s been three years since Hamas’ massacre. We will never forget what was done and will continue to honor the memory of every victim.

Yesterday, at an exhibition at the European Parliament co-hosted by @AJCTAI honouring the victims of the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack in Israel, MEP Rima Hassan desecrated the memorial.
We thank @EP_President Roberta Metsola for responding with the moral clarity this moment demands and for standing unequivocally with Europe’s Jews:
“At a time of rising antisemitism, we owe it to Europe’s Jewish community that, when they look to us, they see that this is their house too.”
The @Europarl_EN is a place where everyone must feel safe, secure and protected. We cannot have actions that could make people fearful of speaking; we cannot have damage to property and we cannot have attempts to intimidate rather than to debate. At a time of rising global antisemitism, we owe it to Europe's Jewish community to ensure that when they look to us, they see that this is their House too.

Building durable, cross-party support for Israel across the Atlantic is more critical than ever. We are proud to expand AJC’s Transatlantic Friends of Israel (TFI) network to Cyprus, bringing together parliamentarians, diplomats, and business leaders to strengthen support for Israel across the political spectrum. Cyprus became the 5th TFI chapter, joining TFI EU, TFI Italy, TFI Austria, and TFI US. The launch of TFI Cyprus this week brought together Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. @CKombos, TFI Cyprus Chair Nikolas Papadopoulos, Cypriot MPs, and Ambassadors from Israel and the United States, marking a new chapter in East Mediterranean cooperation.

AJC stands with the British Jewish community in rejecting the Green Party’s deeply troubling motion targeting Zionism and Jewish institutions. Zionism is the belief in the Jewish people's right to self-determination in their ancestral homeland. Casting it as inherently racist does not advance peace or dialogue. It erases the historical, cultural, and religious connection of the Jewish people to Israel and seeks to place a core element of Jewish identity outside the bounds of legitimate public life. We urge political leaders to reject rhetoric that isolates, stigmatizes, or excludes Jewish communities under the guise of debate about Israel.
“The motion passed by the Green Party today is an attack on the Jewish community. It is an antisemitic platform, based on a grossly offensive distortion and erasure of Jewish experience and identity.” The full statement by the Board of Deputies of British Jews and the Jewish Leadership Council: @JLC_uk

Iran and its proxies are once again putting regional security, global commerce, and civilian lives at risk. This latest round of escalation began with Iran threatening commercial shipping and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. After U.S. forces responded against Iranian maritime and military targets, Tehran retaliated by attacking ships and U.S. forces in the region, while its Houthi proxies intensified attacks on Saudi Arabia. The responsibility for this escalation lies with Tehran.

AJC is deeply concerned by today’s joint statement from 12 governments announcing plans to introduce or support restrictions on trade with Israeli settlements in the West Bank, as well as by the UK government’s decision to characterize the situation in the West Bank as “ethnic cleansing” of Palestinians. There is no question that violence by Israeli extremists in the West Bank must be condemned and that those responsible must be held accountable. AJC has spoken forcefully on this issue. But the path to a better future for Israelis and Palestinians runs through diplomacy, dialogue, and direct negotiations, not economic isolation. European governments should focus their efforts on strengthening the conditions for meaningful engagement and a secure and prosperous future for both Israelis and Palestinians. timesofisrael.com/liveblog_e…

AfD’s election win in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt marks a grim milestone: The party is now within reach of forming Germany’s first far-right state government since the Nazi era. @AJCBerlin has been sounding the alarm on the AfD’s rampant, intrinsic, and foundational antisemitism that is deeply embedded in its authoritarian-nationalist politics. The AfD’s rise remains a threat to German democracy and the future of Europe. Read our full report on antisemitism in the AfD: ajc.org/friendly-faces-of-an…

As Spain continues to face a historic migration crisis in Ceuta, Spanish President @SanchezCastejon has chosen to falsely blame Israel, spreading disinformation that Israel caused a complex and ongoing regional challenge. With global antisemitism growing unabated, President Sanchez’ continued demonization of Israel is unacceptable and deflects attention from the real causes of the migration crisis. We urge President Sanchez to act more responsibly and recognize that words have real consequences. jpost.com/international/arti…

Alternative for Germany (AfD) is a far-right party with antisemitism at its core, embedding antisemitic ideas into its politics through coded language, conspiracy narratives, and historical revisionism. Its authoritarian-nationalist worldview poses a fundamental challenge to liberal democracy, including through the relativization of Nazi crimes and positive references to Germany’s Nazi past. For years, AJC has confronted the AfD’s dangerous rise—exposing the party’s antisemitism, sounding the alarm about its threat to Germany’s democratic institutions and Jewish community, and urging policymakers in Germany, Europe, and the U.S. not to normalize it. @AJCBerlin’s new report makes clear why that work is more urgent than ever. jewishinsider.com/2026/08/al…

We welcome the announcement of a joint Israeli-Greek defense deal that will strengthen Greek security while reaffirming the strategic partnership between Israel and Greece in the Eastern Mediterranean. AJC has long championed a strong EastMed partnership, and the development of this multilayered defensive system will contribute to the security and stability of the European Union and the Middle East. politico.eu/article/israel-g…

AJC is deeply concerned by reports that the UK government may impose a blanket ban on trade with Israeli communities in the West Bank. Such a measure would represent a significant escalation in efforts to economically isolate Israel and risks creating a de facto broader boycott of Israeli businesses and products. Disagreements over settlements and the future of the West Bank should be addressed through diplomacy and direct negotiations, not blanket trade bans. At a time when the focus should be on advancing peace and security, the UK should avoid measures that further isolate Israel and make the prospects for constructive engagement even more difficult.

On September 1, 1939, Nazi Germany attacked Poland. The invasion marked the beginning of the Second World War. We honor the memory of the liberators, victims, and brave souls who confronted the evils of Nazism in history's darkest hour.
