Despite worldwide calls to and end of police brutality, eyewitness video and reports from the field capture the moment a protester fell unconscious following a strike by police officers with a rubber baton. - These are organic domestic protests about authoritarian rule, corruption, rigged electoral system.

Edi Rama could have had a decent legacy. People are often forgiving and forget some of the bad and remember the good in a a decade or two. Now he will only be remembered for bringing Albania to civil conflict just like Berisha in 1997.
Edi Rama is a psychopathic dictator who has authorized police to hit the crowds with such brutality that people are getting life long wounds tonight, praying nobody dies. Whomever has any power to push him resign and call early elections, please ACT NOW. Terrible night in Tirana.

I find it funny Edi Rama is blaming Antifa for the riots in Albania. Everybody I know in there is actually on the right to hard right in their beliefs. The rioters are a coalition of extremes because he would not listen to 4 months of peaceful protesters from the whole spectrum.
My optimistic predictions about the riots ending in Tirana after a couple of quiet days were wrong. It's street battles, a fog of tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannons in downtown Tirana right now.
Watching two Albanian young women choking on tear gas and punching police shields at the same time on live TV is something else. Albanian women are something else. The Kastrioti gene lives on.
I stopped going to the protests one they turned into riots. What we need is numbers not Molotov cocktails. I understand the anger but I remain in my call: no violence. If police beat peaceful people, which they do, document and publicize. Don't hit back. Trust me, works better.
