I’ve always respected Cristiano Ronaldo as a player and competitor. The narratives on this app around him are mostly based off of the last few years of his career when he has been a shadow of the player he used to be and I think he gets a lot of undeserved disrespect given how great he was in his prime. Of course he hasn’t helped himself with some of his antics in recent years, but his vanity and self-belief are huge reasons for his success. Whether you like him or not he has shaped the last 2 decades of football and the game won’t be the same without him

You can't correlate the Bayern game to what will happen to us vs Barca For one, I hope Simeone isn't an idiot and doesn't play RLN Also Barca's defence is nowhere near as physical as Bayern's, look at how upamecano dealt with Sorloth and Alvarez, Barca doesn't have that profile
Didn’t catch the game obviously, but looks like a highly depleted Bayern side just dealt with Atleti away fairly comfortably. We have to follow suit. No excuses come the weekend.

Don’t really get the point of Fermin. He doesn’t elevate the creation vs good teams, actually drowns it. His sugar rush decision making + repeated runs he makes reduces chances of creating real chances that doesn’t go beyond overlapping runs into the box (that get cleared)

The reason I was so high on signing Amadou Onana for Barcelona is because we need to focus on signing players that are not just competent technically but also physically excellent. Our physical floor is poor & it will hurt our ability to compete all-round. Needs to change.

Like Arne Slot said, there’s no point of tactics if you can’t win your duels. Our dueling ability in this squad is absolutely shocking. Arteta prioritised improving the physical floor & turning Arsenal into a team with physical monsters from the beginning & look at them now.

Think Iraola deserves far more credit than the general consensus seems to be right now, he’s lost ONE match at Liverpool, to City. They’re 3 wins from 3 in the UCL, on 15 points after 8 games (71-ish point pace), utilising Nyoni, Koumas, Rio, McConnell. They were one of the teams whose transfer business was most worrying, Araujo’s done well but RB, LB, central midfield, he’s managed those issues near-perfectly. Still so much to be improved on even from a coaching POV but in a transition season with a sub optimal “rebuild” in the summer, you couldn’t have asked for much more.

In both defeats for Barcelona last week, they faced teams who used the switch of play effectively Barcelona are quite ball-oriented in their pressing and try to keep their defensive line closely connected, meaning they leave space on the ball-far side

Curious why Poch's name isn't being mentioned around the United job. Empowers players. Great at developing younger talent. Great at getting players fit. Press-first approach. School of Bielsa and bit Iraola in how he likes his team's to attack. US job showed his ability to bait + accelerate in current tactical meta. PL proven. He'd be my pick if Carrick were to go.

I know everything regarding Flick is a sensitive topic on here. Its not black or white situation, he clearly did way more good things than bad things since coming here but its not healthy that this makes people defend him to death and not acknowledging some things that are objectively flawed

less games = less injury risk has to be the most overstated correlation in football. in 24/25 up until march, ousmane started in 27 of the 33 games he was eligible to play in. this was when was at his best level physically, mentally & played with the highest intensity.
🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Ousmane Dembélé’s latest INJURY is set to reignite a HUGE DEBATE over how PSG and Luis Enrique are managing the French forward! Dembélé and Luis Enrique have been joking with each other in the media recently about the player’s desire to have more holidays. The Frenchman even took a short trip to the UNITED STATES during his most recent break. However, behind the scenes, Dembélé has reportedly admitted that he NEEDS TO PLAY REGULARLY to regain his rhythm and return to his best level. His latest injury is now expected to raise SERIOUS QUESTIONS about PSG’s management of his fitness and playing time, especially as he approaches his 30th birthday in May. — @lequipe

I've seen a constant stream of criticism towards Balde because of Cancelo's rise to a starter last season, even so that there are shouts to look for a sale. One thing I'm certain about, when we're facing a top team going high with their press (Bayern/PSG), Balde is my starter

I say this because Barça are used to 70% settled possession with time to break down a block. Very few teams are brave enough to go 1v1 against them. Those situations require you to attack differently, to be more spontaneous without losing precision.

PSG drag you into a unique game and Barça competed very well in the circumstances. The biggest room for improvement is in final third synergy.
