Very soon, if care is not taken, the middle class in Nigeria wonβt be able to afford medications anymore. As it stands now, the poor can barely afford them.π
At the pharmacy where I went to buy medication for my mother-in-law, a woman was already there asking for amlodipine, a medication for high blood pressure (HBP). When the pharmacist told her the price, you should have seen how the mama shouted in disbelief! She told the pharmacist to keep it back, that she would come back next week to buy it.
I felt so bad, so I told the pharmacist to give the mama two cards.βΉοΈ
This small medication youβre seeing in this picture costs 78k! The pharmacist was also complaining bitterly about how drastically the prices of drugs keep increasing. Even this B12 I know of before, now costs 45k.π’
Now, Iβm really wondering how poor, sick people out there are surviving.
