Denis hugely deserves his MBE - he’s worked so hard to preserve war memorials at risk in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and I’ve loved working with him on this amazing project @ARWMP

A CWGC headstone has been installed at Willesden New Cemetery in London for a #WWII casualty previously commemorated on the Brookwood 1939-1945 Memorial. The personal inscription was chosen by the casualty's niece.

Interesting to find a memorial within the @CWGC plot to a number of Belgian soldiers who died of their wounds at the nearby 5th Northern General Hospital, Leicester. Very sad to see that one of the soldiers is unidentified. 🇧🇪

So tomorrow I’m off to @ARWMP in the morning and then having a look round Welford Road Cemetery in the afternoon with the Eastern EOHO team from @CWGC. If you see me say hello! After that I’m off to drink serious amounts of very strong stouty stuff with @nigel_atter. Pray for us.
