The financial results for H1 FY27 have been adjusted to exclude fair value gains on investments, ESOP expenses, and the related combined tax effects, to reflect the business performance.
Wealth decisions don’t have to be complicated. What matters is understanding your choices, knowing what works for you, and having the clarity to move forward with confidence.
Because the right guidance makes even the difficult parts easier to navigate.
Chirag Muni, Executive Director, Anand Rathi Wealth Limited, shares his perspective with Financial Express on what rising bond yields could mean for debt fund investors.
With the RBI raising the repo rate by 25 basis points and the 10 year government bond yield moving above 7%, debt mutual funds are seeing near term mark to market pressure.
Chirag highlights that short and medium duration funds appear better placed from a risk adjusted perspective in the current environment, as their lower duration can reduce the impact if yields rise further. Long duration funds may see higher near term volatility, but they could become more attractive if inflation moderates and the interest rate cycle eventually turns.
The key is not to invest simply because yields have risen. The duration of the fund should align with the investor’s time horizon and the objective of the allocation. Investors with longer horizons can also evaluate target maturity funds aligned with when the money may be required.
The uncomplicated approach is to match debt allocation with the goal and investment horizon rather than react to short term movements in yields.

Small cap mutual funds continue to attract attention, but sustaining long term wealth creation requires looking beyond recent returns.
In an article published in The Economic Times, Jasmeet Singh, Executive Director, Anand Rathi Wealth, shares his perspective on the outlook for small cap funds and the importance of maintaining a disciplined investment approach.
He remains positive on the segment over the medium to long term, highlighting that the recent market correction has made valuations more comfortable, with negative froth of 16% to 20%. Improving earnings momentum, including 38% earnings growth in the broader mid and small cap space during Q1, further supports the fundamental outlook.
However, he emphasises that small caps are inherently more volatile and may experience sharper corrections during periods of tighter liquidity and global uncertainty. Recent performance should therefore not become a reason to aggressively increase exposure or attempt to time the market.
For long term investors, he highlights the importance of gradually building exposure through SIPs or staggered investments, with a diversified market capitalisation allocation of 55% large caps, 23% mid caps and 22% small caps. An approach centred on actively diversified equity funds can help maintain exposure across sectors and market cycles while supporting portfolio stability and liquidity.
The focus remains on disciplined allocation, diversification and aligning investments with long term wealth goals rather than reacting to short term market movements.

- Investors should avoid chasing gold after sharp price rallies and consider the risk of buying at elevated levels.
- Gold should complement equity in a portfolio, with allocation guided by existing gold and debt holdings.
- Any fall in international gold prices could have a greater impact on domestic prices if the rupee strengthens and import duties decline.

9 Investment Mistakes to Leave Behind This Navratri
Navratri commemorates Goddess Durga’s victory over Mahishasura, culminating in Vijayadashami. The story symbolises the triumph of good over evil and reminds us that overcoming challenges takes strength and determination.
Similarly, our investment journey comes with its own set of challenges. This Navratri, here are nine habits investors can leave behind to make better decisions.
1. Choosing funds based on recent returns: A fund that performed well last year may not do as well next year. Look beyond recent returns and understand whether the fund suits your needs.
2. Investing without a goal: Know what you want your money to achieve and when you’ll need it. This helps you choose investments that fit your goals.
3. Selling investments out of fear: Market falls can be unsettling, but panic-selling can turn temporary losses into permanent ones. Review your goals before making a decision.
4. Putting too much money into one part of the market: Concentrating your investments in one sector or market segment can increase risk. Spreading them across different areas can help manage it.
5. Assuming more mutual funds mean better diversification: Different funds may hold the same stocks. Choose funds that serve distinct purposes instead of simply adding more schemes.
6. Waiting for the perfect time to invest: Predicting market movements is difficult. Waiting too long may mean missing opportunities. A clear plan and regular investing can help you stay disciplined.
7. Overlooking asset allocation: Choosing good funds is only part of building a portfolio. How you divide your money across equity, debt and other asset classes should reflect your goals, investment horizon and ability to take risks.
8. Checking investments every day: Daily market movements can cause unnecessary worry. Review your portfolio periodically instead of reacting to every change in value.
9. Expecting quick results: Wealth creation takes time, and returns vary from year to year. Give your investments time to grow and let compounding work in your favour.
A fresh start for your financial journey
Navratri is a time of renewal, making it a good opportunity to reflect on our financial choices. We may not always get every investment decision right, but a clear plan and the discipline to follow it can go a long way towards building wealth over time.
May this festive season bring clarity to your financial journey and prosperity in the years ahead. Wishing you and your family a happy Navratri!

- The Nifty’s resilience despite negative news signals improving market stability.
- Continued domestic investor participation provides a strong market cushion, while stable inflows could help absorb selling by foreign investors.
