Before there was camping outside the Arena, Bruce Pearl had to recruit students to come to the games. This is amazing πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

THE NEXT STEPS: START OLSEN AT THREE, LET DOWD PLAY SOME THREE AND FOUR, LET BUKKY PLAY SOME FOUR NEXT TO NGOY AT FIVE CHECK BALL!
HUGE PROGRESS ON THE ROTATIONS LAST NIGHT πŸ‘πŸ‘ FREEMAN MAKES LIFE EASIER IN THAT REGARD. WHAT I LIKED: - NO TAHAAD/KIMBLE SHARED ACTION (PG ONLY RESPONSIBILITIES) - A LOT OF 2 BIG LINEUPS WITH FREEMAN - KING GETTING REAL MINUTES PREFER A 9 MAN ROTATION BUT 10 WILL DO FOR NOW

IM SURE BLAKE IS ABOUT ALL THE RIGHTS. MOST LIKELY A TRUE AUBURN MAN BUT HE DOESNT HAVE TO PLAY FOR FANS TO APPRECIATE HIM @StevenPearl22 YOU ARE COACHING FOR YOUR JOB. USE COMMON SENSE
Year 2 of the Steven Pearl era gets underway tonight in The Jungle as Auburn hosts SE Louisiana. Tigers return three players --- Tahaad Pettiford, Kevin Overton, and Blake Muschalek --- from last season's team that won the Postseason NIT. And Here. We. Go.

IN THREE EXHIBITION GAMES WE SAW EVERY IMAGINABLE SMALL BALL LINE UP BUT WE COULDN’T FIND TIME TO AT LEAST ~TRY THE DOUBLE BIG LINE UP (NO EXCUSES) UNSERIOUS PROGRAM BEHAVIOR! GET THIS STAFF TO START PLAYING HUGE LINE UPS YESTERDAY OR FIND A NEW ONE THAT WILL. CHECK BALL!

Build a system around your current players. It can’t be the other way around. Through 3 games, it’s obvious to me we’re trying to force the typical β€œPearl” system to work with a group that isn’t fit for it. We’re doubling down on a bad strategy. Just pivot.

Despite the controversy, I still see light at the end of the tunnel. Small MOE but a rotation of Tahaad 30 mins / KO 10 mins KO 20 mins / King 20 mins Olsen 30 mins / Dowd 10 mins Bukky 30 mins / Dowd 10 mins Ngoy 20 mins / Freeman 20 mins should still be elite.

The person who wrote this headline has zero shame
Former Auburn basketball player and assistant coach Wes Flanigan violated NCAA rules against tampering while on the staff at Ole Miss, it was announced Friday.

Fair to say we are significant favorites tonight? Still kind of surreal how far we’ve come as a basketball program

As someone who advocates for bigger line ups, I will be highly disappointed if we don’t see the double big line up at all tomorrow.
Tomorrow Auburn will likely be without Owen Freeman (foot injury) and due to eligibility concerns, Mantas and King might not suit up either, so my guess at the rotation: Pettiford/Kimble/Muschalek KO/Kimble/Walker/Williams Williams/Olsen/Dowd Dowd/Olsen Oboye/Ngoy

If we actually believe in it, we will find a way to make it work (with or without Freeman).

Let’s assume Byrum’s YPC (excluding sacks) is 6 yards. Would that be enough to get the staff to run him more? @_JHokanson @JayGTate @LockedOnAuburn @RhettHobart @WarBlogle

Replying to @mikegittens
@mikegittens Mike G pregame AG said something along the lines of β€œwe don’t have to be extraordinary. We just have to be ourselves” I guess to relieve some pressure off the team. To me, that’s a bad approach. Extraordinary results are the byproduct of extraordinary efforts.

Embrace the pressure. If we are made of the right stuff, we will meet the moment. But don’t try to be in the middle

ALL THE SIZE ON THIS ROSTER AND SOMEHOW WE WILL STILL FIND A WAY TO PLAY SMALL IT STARTS WITH DEFENSE. PLAY BIG!
So with the Auburn Basketball stuff we’ve seen, is this what we’re thinking? 1. Tahaad 2. Overton 3. Mantas 4. Dowd 5. Ngoy/Oboye? The only thing I see holding Ngoy back is being out of shape.
