AVB

Happy November and happy AVBiversary to everyone celebrating this month! Thank you for Building Something Better with AVB💙

There’s a lot of preparation behind progress like this! Before Riverbend at Capital started going vertical, our team completed a mockup window installation to work through the process and details together. One week later, framing is going up! Learn more: hubs.la/Q04CXbxq0

Wendy and Amanda spent a few days in Orlando last week for Procore Groundbreak 2026! They learned more about what’s new with Procore and the latest technology being used in construction. We’re glad they could attend and bring some new ideas back to AVB!

A little friendly competition made for a fun day at MiCareerQuest Southwest 2026! 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️ Students stopped by our booth to race against the clock and see how quickly they could put on their PPE the right way. Thanks to everyone who stopped by!

A milestone worth celebrating! We cut the ribbon at River’s Edge, bringing 228 affordable and workforce housing units to Kalamazoo. We are proud to have served as construction manager. Congratulations to our AVB team, River Caddis and Standard Communities!

Thank you to AIA Southwest Michigan for touring Mt. Zion’s The Legacy Senior Living with us! This community will offer 70 affordable senior housing units in Kalamazoo’s Northside neighborhood, with solar panels and on-site battery storage.

The drone gets the best seat for this project update! Recent exterior work at Kalamazoo Township’s new Eastwood Fire Station includes site lighting installation and siding along the east side of the building.

You don’t have to wear a hard hat to build a career in construction! Jayme and Erin represented AVB at WMU’s Networking Like a Bronco the other night, helping introduce students to the possibilities within our industry. Thank you to all the Broncos who stopped by!

We’ll take our morning coffee with a side of structural steel! The first delivery is on site, giving us a little extra reason to celebrate Steel Construction Month 😄 📸: AVB Project Manager Keith Miller

AVB's VP of Operations, Derek Mathieu, recently joined Landon Martin, Doug Gallup, and Ed Talaga for The True Cost: Balancing Great Spaces and Sustainable Operations at the MSBO Facilities Conference. Thank you all for a great discussion on supporting Michigan schools!

It was a great day at the MGRRE project, where we welcomed WMU Civil & Construction Engineering students for a site tour. We shared a look at the project and answered students' questions about the industry. Thanks to everyone who joined us!

From Michigan to Bosnia. AVB COO Greg Dobson recently reconnected with former AVB interns Tarik and Elma in Sarajevo. During the trip, Greg and his wife, Melinda, were interviewed for a documentary on the Jericho Foundation program. #BuildSomethingBetter

We’re excited to welcome three new team members this week! Please join us in welcoming Paul, Maddy, and Michael to AVB. We’re glad to have you on the team!

Our very own Derek Mathieu will be speaking at the MSBO Facilities/Operations Conference alongside Landon Martin, Doug Gallup, and Ed Talaga. Join them as they discuss how today's facility decisions impact operations for years to come.

Help us celebrate this month’s AVBiversaries! We’re grateful for the people who make AVB a great team to be part of and appreciate the work they put in each day. Happy AVBiversary to everyone celebrating this month! 💙

Please join us in congratulating Matt Carpenter on his promotion to Commercial Superintendent! Matt has taken on growing responsibilities at AVB, most recently working on student housing projects at EMU and PFW. We can’t wait to see the great work he does in his new role!

Before demolition, Richland Township Fire Department hosted a controlled burn at an AVB-owned home at Little Long Lake. Ross-Augusta, Cooper Township and Hickory Corners Fire Departments joined for hands-on training. Thanks to all who took part and let us capture photos!

A warm welcome to Hot Box and congratulations on your ribbon cutting and grand opening! We're excited to have you join the growing Corner@Drake family. If you haven't checked them out yet, be sure to stop by. They're located between Nonla Burger and Menchie's Frozen Yogurt.

Our week of career fairs has come to a close! We enjoyed connecting with students at WMU, MSU and FSU, sharing what it's like to build a career in construction management. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth! We look forward to staying connected 😊

We're hitting the road this week for three career fairs! If you're exploring opportunities in construction management, stop by and say hello. We'd love to talk about the culture of AVB and the projects we're building across Southwest Michigan.
